Two things:

1. Blatt's teams often start slow, but almost always finish the season strong.

2. Blatt has a history of taking talented players who lack self control and gradually reshaping their attitude towards the game to the point where they become extremely important to their team's success. I'm optimistic he will eventually be able to do something similar with Dion, and maybe with Kyrie to a lesser extent. It might take a little while though.

Will the team be taken to the woodshed again tomorrow? You got to figure that card can only be played so many times in a season. A lot of this offense we have seen can't be the plays that have been drawn up.

I don't think Blatt can have a lineup out there that doesn't have one of James/Love/Kyrie out there. They just can't score with that lineup running through Dion and Tristan. I would be surprised if Marion didn't start logging 25+ minutes because of the energy he provides out there which he showed tonight.

Right and at the time players find his system to complicated I think Bron Is the only one who seems to get it. Players like Waiters look lost as a kid in candy shop and Kyrie breaks plays to early. Love Is where he should be at least. Even AV looks lost at times... Blatt must have a really interesting system. Watching the team fumble around like idiots is more on them at this point. LeBron was just watching the horror as we were. The problem is in the past the coach just said F'it and let them do whatever. Waiters was the one dragging this team down tonight big time.

I'm not so sure what I think of LeBron logging minutes at shooting guard. I had that thought with Marion on board when I was fantasizing how we would use some of our pieces, but I didn't think we would actually see it. This team really needs an athletic swing-man that can make shots and isn't in love with the dribble. So far I have only seen Marion logging minutes at the backup small forward.

I still think Blatt is searching for ways to get something out of Waiters. He threw him out there without any of our big three and he still wasn't able to contribute. Not trying to pick on Waiters(Kyrie was only slightly better tonight) as much as i'm trying to understand Blatt's rotation a little bit.

Yes again I think this as well... Waiters was best at improve where he could just do what ever. In a planted system Waiters looks awful so far. He has no idea what he is doing and tries to make plays not to look bad. In scrub time he fumbled the ball, He will be the biggest project and like I said he will be gone if he can not get it sooner than later. As with the 2010 Heat we have to try to be patient and give this team time. My main worry is LeBron hiding a serious injury.

When we do secure the defensive board, we aren't looking to push. James hasn't pushed the ball at Dion hasn't got out on the wing in a position to attack. We're playing the 3rd slowest pace of any team in the league. I think Dion getting baskets in transition will help him immensely.

I never thought I would long for the days of the Mike Brown ball movement from February-April of last year. I would assume a coach like Blatt will get that taken care of a lot quicker than old spit cup Brown. He had better get to work.

Mike Miller needs to approach Blatt and say "Yo Dave, I need to be playing with LeBron, he's the reason I'm here, he's the guy I have chemistry with"

So far Mike Miller has done absolutely nothing. I think Mike should start, and bring Dion off the bench. Mike getting us two 3's right off the bat would have reshaped the game. Mike also knows Kevin Love's game too, they were once teammates.

Mike shouldn't start. He's a defense liability and is so slow to run back on defense. Right now, Dion is a better fit to start and is off being the starter, but he's not really buying in and understanding where he needs to be on the court with the starters in order to get some easy buckets and he couldn't even do that with the second unit last night either. The Cavs are having chemistry issues with LeBron, Love, and Irving, mainly, LeBron and Irving. It's seems like LeBron and Love are starting to develop good chemistry together and in due time, they will be the deadly two-headed combo that everyone had anticipated they would be.

Right now, the ball is stuck with LeBron and Kyrie and as a result, the whole team is suffering from lack of touches and no one is getting involved and guys aren't getting open looks from set plays because you have two guys who want to run the show, but only one of them has a proven record of knowing what it takes to win and the sooner the other one accepts that he can't lead a team the way he thinks he can, the quicker they will start to play better as a team.

I'll never understand how people who follow sports for a hobby exhibit greater critical-thinking skills about a particular team than the people whose JOB it is to gain insight.

I'd absolutely KILL to be a big-time sports reporter; to see them approach it so lazily makes me want to throw things.

If you think being a "big time sports reporter" would let you ask the hard hitting questions, think again.

The local guys need to put out an article every day. That means they need access to the team and the PR staff every day.

The players, coaching staff and PR people want to carefully manage their image and the information that gets out to the public to show them in the best light possible.

The beat reporters KNOW they won't get answers about personnel or strategy, why ask? All you'll do is p*ss off the coach/player/front office and you'll never get access for the next feature article your editor is counting on you to write.

At that point, all you can do is recycle the same questions and answers and repackage them into another article that gets read and forgotten. Lather, rinse, repeat.

He hasn't hit a 3 all year. Because the ball hasn't moved enough to create him an open shot. The way they are playing right now a guy like Miller is helpless. If Dion would have gotten 2 open looks from 3 that would have reshaped the game too. But no one is getting open looks right now.

The biggest surprise of the first 3 games is the lack of open perimeter shots. You'd think with Lebron driving and Love posting up it would create open 3's for Kyrie and Miller, but it hasn't at all. It's weird. In Miami it always worked with Battier and Allen working the corners, Lebron and Wade driving, and then kicking out for a 3.
