The biggest surprise of the first 3 games is the lack of open perimeter shots. You'd think with Lebron driving and Love posting up it would create open 3's for Kyrie and Miller, but it hasn't at all. It's weird. In Miami it always worked with Battier and Allen working the corners, Lebron and Wade driving, and then kicking out for a 3.
Guys are still trying to figure out where they want to be on the court and where they are comfortable at taking their shots. No one is getting open looks because the ball stays on one-side and no one is drawing out defenders to set up players except for LeBron on a few occasions. The other problem is that the ball is stuck on the hands of LeBron and Kyrie and eventually, the coach will need to make a decision and one of them will have to make the sacrifice to play off the game. I just hope it won't be too long for them to figure that out.
Blatt want the team to move the ball and run good ball movement and doesn't necessarily want a primary playmaker, but I don't think he has the right type of players who are disciplined and selfless enough to run that offense and everyone must buy in to what coach is trying to sell. Right now the whole team is suffering from getting involved because they're just watching the LeBron's show vs Kyrie's show, but only one of them knows how to run the show and win games.
