Please don't forget that Obradovic, Ivkovic and Messina coached very rich clubs, therefore they all had super-star players, while Maccabi had so-so budget and medium level players
Did you see me accusing him? I said that he is an excellent coach, terrific choise for the Cavs, i just stated the obvious that he is not the most succesfull coach in Europe based solely on trophies and success. Nothing less, nothing more. Again, his work will show up, just patience.

Blatt has fucked up a lot more than I thought he would. The bad decisions he's made are kind of troubling.

I love the guy. Yes, he has made some mistakes but the players are the ones making the bigger mistakes. Turnovers, turnovers, and turnovers. Cavs had 9 turnovers in 3rd against Denver and 3 or 4 in last 2 minutes vs Spurs.

It's early, but right now this team looks like a Mike Brown team....

I said this early last year when the team routinely no showed for Brown. It is hugely concerning when a coach can't get his team to consistently play hard. All this hoopla surrounding the team to start the year and we have been outworked basically every single night. How is that possible?

It is only 11 games, but I am already worried. National TV every night. Blockbuster trade. Sign the best player in the world. Sold out crowds. All this and these guys are getting severely outworked by middling teams.

Blatt better show something soon.

His rotations and the way he pairs certain players together make absolutely no sense. Dion is coming off the bench but for some reason Blatt pairs him with Irving routinely instead of Love or LeBron. He always rides the starters for WAY too long. Just today, to start the second half he literally made no subs until there was 3:40 left in the quarter. I just don't understand him at all. Kevin Love seeing 31 minutes tonight is inexcusable (he wasn't in foul trouble either) and the WAS bigs didn't kill us.

I know this post is everywhere but I have a lot of issues so far with this guy. Doesn't even seem to have a firm grasp of the team.

Post game thoughts.

We need a players only meeting, the offense is stalling because everyone is demanding the ball

The rotation should be the starting five plus Dion, Harris (until MD is back), Miller, Jones (he needs to fuckin play because our offense has no spacing), TT and no one else unless it's a blowout.

Varajao should not be the release valve, that should be Love.

Love needs to realize that getting the ball in the post isn't the only way "to get going".

We need more shooters. And a rim protector.

We are gonna be playing from behind every game unless someone comes in and establishes a defensive tone. It can't be Marion because he's too old. Ideally it should be two players in every lineup setting this tone.

Blatt also has to take responsibility in making sure this defensive tone is set every SINGLE game

On and on and on

the lack of love pick n roll situations is alarming. if the cavs want to get love going he has to be involved in the offense and not just a floor spacer/post up threat. put him in pick n rolls/pops with the ball handler. it makes the offense better.

The fact that an offense that has Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James on it has no spacing should tell you all you need to know.

I think Blatt is a major problem so far. These players don't suck. We all know that. The Monstars didn't sap Kevin Love's talent over the summer. They aren't being put into position to succeed and it's starting to become obvious.

I'm not ready to call out Blatt yet. Remember when Bosh was calling out Spo in 2010? Well, look how that worked out. I didn't like how he put Mike Miller in first before Dion tonight, however.

I knew this was going to be a process, but I didn't think it was going to be this much of a struggle.

What Blatt needs to do is to figure out the rotation, give everyone consistent minutes, especially the bench guys.

I also agree there needs to be a team meeting and a players only meeting as well.

The fact is, a lot of that falls on LeBron and Kyrie's shoulders. Did you see how many iso dribble shots those two had tonight with over 10 seconds left on the shot clock? It wasn't pretty and you can't tell me Blatt was instructing them to do that.

I would agree but keep in mind that Blatt is not running a set scheme. He's running a read and react type of offense.

Both Kyrie and LeBron have spent years running plays with Andy and it shows especially on nights like tonight. Love has to be more active and somehow involve himself more in the flow of the offense. He checks out way too easily from what I've seen so far.

If he wants to be more involved he needs to make himself more available because Andy is literally running circles around him making things happen.

From the outside looking in, I can't imagine how difficult of a job it is to coach/control LeBron as a rookie NBA coach.

Especially when you know he has the power in the relationship.
