So long, David Griffin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Indeed, I think one reason to add Williams was to see if RJ rebounded seeing less minutes. He talked last year about how he was best 15-20 minutes/night.

His last season in Dallas it was 16.8. Last year it was 17.9. Now it's 19.5 mpg. That's the exact opposite trajectory you want for your old players. (duh) But the thought is with less time he might recover for the playoffs.

In his podcast he talks about how if he plays too much he has to adjust his effort and plays empty minutes so I think there is a lot of truth to that

Call it what you want: Luck, skill, timing, patience, etc.

But this man just delivered us Kyle Korver, Deron William, Derrick, Willams, and possibly Bogut or Sanders in the span of 6 weeks and all for the cost of a 2019 1st

Kept Cedi, kept 2021 1st, kept Kay, kept Shump and ended up transforming this to the deepest, most versatile roster we've had since the return.

Take a bow, David Griffin

Can never doubt Griff again. The man just knows what the f he is doing and he gets it done under pressure. Just godlike.

Bow down motherfuckers. Bow down to the master.

How many capped out championship teams get DEEPER after they win it all?

None.

Except this Cavs team.

3 years straight this team has DRASTICALLY improved by the deadline. Only idiots doubt Griffin.

He didn't buckle to Delly

Anybody and they momma would take deron and his contract over what Delly brings

We have great management
They seem to not give a fuck about meaningless regular season games before trade deadline either

Griff deserves all the respect in the world. He played his cards absolutely to perfection. He has made every right move. I won't lie, I was upset with losing Delly. I thought it was the wrong move at the time. But in hindsight, we can now see that was a massive overpay and we just got a better player in his place for basically free.

He was patient and didn't give Mario or some other FA risk a full contract. He never panic traded Shump this year or last when it could have been tempting. He never blew up half the bench and every last of our assets for a Melo trade or traded Love for Melo (which I never thought he was that dumb for the latter but many GM's probably are).

He turned the corpse of Dunleavy into Korver, which has been huge in the absence of JR. Through everyone's skepticism, he absolutely crushed the Derrick Williams pick up. And now Derrick has been a huge boost for us and quickly one of my fav players on the team. We didn't trade Shump and a 1st for Deron, we got him for free. Kept all of our assets in the process.

He has seriously played every move to near perfection. We were dealt a bad hand with the crap Mo pulled, to JR being hurt, etc. And he has handled it well. We went from zero bench to a strong bench.

He turned the corpses of Mo, Bird, and Dunleavy into Deron, Derrick, and Korver. And eventually hopefully Mcrae into Bogut or some other big. Crazy.

Last year he played it perfectly too, getting Frye and RJ was a huge turnaround for our chemistry as well as having the balls to fire Blatt midseason while we are on top of the East, and hiring Lue. We don't win a ring without all of that imo.

Executive of the Year. But he will probably get snubbed again. We got to sign Griff long term to this franchise.

Delly was a frozen pre-cooked hamburger patty.

Deron is goddam straight-off-the-grill porterhouse.

Plus JR and Shump for Dion

grif is the man

I just like how he has a plan and makes moves before the moves he actually wants to make are committed.

How to manufacture instant chemistry. Dynamic duos
Pre lebron
Thompson and Irving of course with the Cavs
Jr Smith and Shump were teammates with the knicks
Kevin Love and Derrick Williams were teammates in Minnesota
Kyle Korver and Deron Williams were teammates in Utah
Lebron and James Jones were teammates in Miami
Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson were teammates at Arizona (although I think Frye was redshirted as a freshman)
