Sixers by an easy 40+. I don't get why this is a debate.

You could put together an NBA team with the current NBA free agent pool, and they'd beat Kentucky handily.

EDIT:

PG - Will Bynum / Marquis Teague
SG - Ray Allen / Carlos Delfino / Elliott Williams
SF - Quincy Miller / Rashard Lewis / Ronnie Brewer
PF - Dante Cunningham / Kenyon Martin / Jeff Adrian
C - Emeka Okafor / Jermaine O'Neal

That team would slaughter Kentucky.

Sixers specifically, there's way too much above average talent to lose to a college team.

I stand by my opinion that one of the greatest college football teams of all time could give an expansion NFL team a run for their money.

I would bet all earnings fir the rest of my life against that.

College team would literally have to sign waivers before the game

it's not really a "debate." it's clueless people bringing up a comically bad hypothetical, and as noted earlier it happens nearly annually in professional sports. this one isn't as bad as the nfl/cfb ones but still.

You guys are in denial.

Afraid to admit how bad the 1999 Browns were.

Sixers are basically a D League team right now in midst of their 5+ year tank plan...

With that said, they would beat UK right now.

Give UK an entire season of playing together...and maybe I'd change my mind.

Even then the 6ers win easily. I remember people asking this question the Cavs first year after LBJ, when the team was filled with D-League scrubs. But look at the names of those scrubs. Luke Harangody, Joey Graham, Daniel Gibson, Samardo Samuels, Leon Powe, Jawad Williams, Manny Harris and so on. A tier 1 list of awful NBA players. And yet all of them were college stars. People look at the Kentucky team and think every single guy there will make it in the NBA and the truth is the majority of those guys will probably wash out, just like the list of players above.

It's Philadelphia in a blowout.

It's not just about the talent and experience still heavily favouring 76ers. It's that Philly is a really bad matchup for Kentucky because they would be running into a steals and blocks buzzsaw. MCW and Wroten is one of the biggest ball thief backcourts in the NBA let alone college. Noel was one of the most prolific block and steal machines in college history. McDaniels was a significant stl and block player in college. Other guys like Mbah a Moute, Sims, Shved would have physical advantages. This is all in addition to how experience and physical advantages would also increase the turnovers for Kentucky.

The problem is once Kentucky starts turning the ball like crazy against these guys, it turns into a laugher. Philly is too athletic and would be scoring in transition going the other way every time. Even if Philly had to score in the half court MCW, Wroten, Shved penetration skills, plus players like Hollis shooting, Davies post scoring, etc. would still make them dominant.

UK would be a disaster trying to score against the physical tools of MCW, Wroten, McDaniels, Mbah a Moute, Noel. Philly would score tons of points on UK because of transition points and guards who can rip them up in the halfcourt. This one's not close. I feel like for Kentucky to beat an all time bad NBA team it has to be a make-up different than Philly. More like an old and slow team.
