Isn't there something that the alcohol calories in fat don't metabolize the same way or something and aren't "true" calories?

But yeah try drinking a couple Christmas Ales and then enter that into a calorie/macro tracker...yikes.

Inhaling alcohol vapors is great but might kill you. Doesn't stop me from taking a big whiff of a pan when I'm deglazing...

Two things aboot alkahol calories.. 1. your body uses alcohol for energy above all other nutrients, so until you burn off all that alcohol you are storing everything else. That pizza you ate in-between beers 3 and 4? Go directly to fat, do not collect $200. 2. Alcohol is about as thermogenic as protein, you burn roughly 20% of the calories in alcohol by digesting it, why you get the sweats when heavily drinking.

alcohol sucks ass but i love it so. damn it.

itll make you cut down on drinking calories.. especially beer. Oh look, i just drank 650 calories and im barely buzzed.

A note on drinking: i did some math (shocking!) and one busch light per day for an entire year is the caloric equivalent to 9.5 POUNDS of (average) human fat tissue. Drink 20 beers a week and..jesus christ.

If I were to drink a Busch Light I think I would just count it as 12oz toward my daily water intake. :chuckles:

Shocker you chime in when beer gets brought up! :chuckles:

But yeah Busch light is pretty bad, I prefer Coors if it's light beer. Never became a big fan of beer at all until the last year though so I don't have very broad horizons.

Sadly eating healthy is not cheap or quick. Best thing I can recommend is a crockpot. You can do large amounts of chicken or lean pork and have food ready for the week.

au contraire, i rate foods based on ease of preparation and cost per calorie/g of protein. easily doable

You just have to shop around. I remember when I was younger, 18 living in Orlando I went to one place, bought what I needed, no matter the price. That is honestly fucking stupid. Now I ALWAYS look around before I buy chicken. As Aux said, Kroger has BOGO for chicken a lot of the time. For those who have House of Meats in your area, around every 3-4weeks they bring their chicken down to $1.99/lb (you have to deal with the people who abuse the EBT cards and shit, hear them yell how "rich" they are, but you can't beat that price)

You know anywhere in our area Aux where we can get cheap ground turkey?! I always go to Monnettes to get my sliced deli meat but haven't really looked around for ground turkey.

Harris Teeter always has fresh chicken breasts for 1.99 a pound. It's awesome.

I can't wait until Publix opens here, though. They're building it literally right next to where I live, like within a hundred yards of the side entrance to my apartment complex. Being able to walk to the grocery store every day to buy fresh food will make healthy eating so much easier.

I dont know of a good place :( i just stick to Kroger. Used to hit up house of meats cuz their frozen food is off the chain but quit eating most of that stuff. Havent been grocery shopping lately cuz im graduating next week and moving apartments..no sense in filling my fridge just to take it all out again in a few days.

Definitely will check out HoM's chicken deal though, sounds great. Theres a middle eastern market that sells chicken on the low and will marinade it for you too

edit- Another thursday weigh in.. literally the exact same weight at BF% as last week. Kind of irritating but I went home and basically had a whole cheat weekend, I can see how beer and candy canceled out my week long caloric deficit. You can do worse than staying the same lol more motivation not to drink

Half marathon coming up in 2 days. I am sick, supposed to be cold in Toledo on Sunday (40's for race time). Not looking good so far :chuckles: I've also been feeling a little discomfort in my left foot for when I ran at pace the past couple times. I am thinking I might go buy some nice padded socks. I just bought new Dr. Scholls inserts to try and help. Gonna go have some beers tonight to relax and then do my regular routine the day before the race.

Will let ya guys know my time. I am pushing for 1:45. But I feel it will be closer to 1:55.
