Anybody know of a protein tracker out there? I don't care too much for the calorie side, but if there is an app that does both or two good of each, spread the word.....

my fitness pal tracks every macro as well as calories. you can set your macro goals too, like 40% protein, etc so you can make sure you're hittin em

Did good, not as good as I wanted to (beat 1:45) but close. I had to take a piss right before it started and it took me forever just to get back onto the road where it was starting. They did an awful job with organizing that, but other than that, it was a good event. It was so bad at the start/crowded that it took me 14min. to get to the 1st mile marker :chuckles: :thumbdown It was cold as hell out in the beginning but ended up to be a really good day. I was so dehydrated by the end of the race I drank 2 beers at the beer tent after the race and felt drunk :chuckles:

It was crazy seeing fireman running it in full firefighter gear. (for the fireman who died a little bit ago)

I am signing up for the Columbus marathon in October. It's a real good course and crowded as hell. Freaking 18,000 people running through Columbus and so many "fans"

down to 177.5 lbs and 15.5% BF according to my scale. gonna get measured at my gym today and see how accurate that is, will edit this later

edit- "wellness clinic" was closed cuz of finals. Gonna have to do it some time next week

at ~1600 cals the last two days, its a little easier than i thought it would be but im crazy busy right now (writing a thesis, moving, finals) so my mind hasent been on food so much. We'll see if i can keep it at around 1600 without any adverse effects, itll certainly speed up fat loss if i can

edit2- i know we all rip on BMI, but it says i should weigh 149...lmao

I woke up with the intent to make this a fantastic cheat day-- I fully intended to make Cinnabons from scratch. I even bought everything I needed, last night. I woke up for work this morning and caught a glance in the mirror and was like WTF?!!!!?! - My abs made an apparence- I'm talking side oblique definition as well. I was never aiming for a six pack, because I don't think that looks that great on females. But the obliques -- I have never seen that on me.

Needless to say, this has me greatly rethinking the cinnabon thing. Although I could cut the ingredients in half, but still.
I have a wedding to go to in June and there is a dress that I want to buy for it, (I don't have wedding apporpriate clothing), because everything is yoga leggings. The dress is definitely a nod to Audrey Hepburn (1950's vintage) :inlove:. A goal of mine is to be able to look rather decent in that.

So, maybe the cinnabons have to wait a little bit longer. But yay for definition in my obliques.

Women with abs is awesome don't fool yourself into thinking anything else.

Not the look I care to have. I rather look lean and not muscular in the ab region. My arms have a but of definition, but I don't really want any more in the abdominal area. That's not attractive to me.

Funny how we all get pulled by different food cravings. I made marinated grilled lamb chops last week that I dusted with some spices sent to me directly from India. If I had to pick, I would take that over cinnabons for sure. I do like my sweets too, but I find that if I can have a protein bar after dinner that calms down the cravings until I go to bed.

I caved in and made the Cinnabons. I don't "like" sweets, I love them, and I actually need them to function. I can bake better than I can cook. Grilled lamb isn't even fattening in comparison. What I bake will always be worse than anything you cook, unless you're going heavy with the pasta and Alfredo (etc.).

I just cut the recipe in half-- so, there's my compromise.

My diet has been ass lately, gotta get back to it

Doesnt help being back home and mom wants to cook hashbrowns for breakfast and my dad wants to have a few beers every night lol

Came here to post this! I'm home for a few days before I head back up for summer school and my moms southern cooking is KILLING me. So damn good. I was doing so well too. At least it's only for a few days.

anybody use MyFitnessPal? I've used it periodically in the past, but think I've decided to work on my diet and am planning to use it regularly. Since I get off of work in 8 hour usually now and have time to work out, I figure I might as well attempt to maximize results and actually pay attention to my diet for once, since that is what's always held me back.

I let the app calculate my daily calorie intake based on the info entered, but am not sure what to set carbs and fat at. I've read in the past that hitting grams in protein equal to your body weight is a pretty good benchmark (maybe it was Dave who recommended?). I went today and picked up a ton a protein packed foods (scallops, turkey, fish, chicken, double protein bread, yogurt, etc), tried to avoid all sugary foods, chose lower sodium alternatives, and got some low-calorie foods such as celery.

I'm sort of picky, but would like some more suggestions related to a diet. Right now my current goal is to make the change for 1 month and hope that it turns into a habit to eat healthier.

Also, if anyone uses MyFitness, my name is luke2209

You are going to want to do protein 1 to 1.5 grams per body weight. If you are looking to cut weight (or even if you aren't still not a bad way to go) cut out grains and eat healthy fats. My diet is usually around 100 grams of healthy fasts and about 170 of protein a day on like a 1700 calorie limit. I'll probably add in some carbs here in a bit because you are supposed to periodically but the key is those healthy fats keeps you full.
