I saw this video in a compilation... hard not to like the guy after seeing that. Also, could pass for jordan's brother there.

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

Have to agree with W&G. I can't help but think the Cavs simply didn't take Robinson because we have Tristan Thompson. That is inexcusable IMO. It seems that they were set on getting a wing and T-Rob was never even considered.

I just don't think Tristan showed enough to make us avoid T-Rob due to his position.

Waiters is definitely a cocky guy. Good and bad thing. Hopefully more good. I just hope we aren't screaming "STOP SHOOTING AND GIVE THE BALL TO KYRIE!!!" at the end of games.

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

My main problem doesn't have as much to do with Waiters personally, anyways. It has to do with what I perceived as a pretty big value disparity between Waiters and Robinson. I can soo if we are a contending team with depth of talent across the board and are looking for that singular piece to put us over the top when disregarding a value difference as big as what I see between Robinson and Waiters. But, when you are a team that is woefully thin pretty much across the board, years away from contention, and with many opportunities to come to fill holes and target particular positions, you take the high value player. The only position on this current team I might think to shy away from in that regard would be point guard. That's just how I think, personally ..and how I would operate in the Cavs position.

I can understand your discretion with this selection, so I won't respond negatively or positively to it. Rather, I'm more interested in something else that hasn't been mentioned.

If we passed on who you think was a better selection for contention, like Robinson, that must mean it could have a great impact for the Kings, right? Watch for them the next two years, since these smart(er) selections will lead to having an additional pick for the future to use. I think the game is well played. Dion's not the worst thing I've ever heard and the Kings got a little better. It's still somewhat of a win-win, right?

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

Don't bash me for sayin this but Dion reminds me of Dwyane Wade coming out of college. Body type and pg skills in a 6'4 body. Waiters though is a way better shooter. Just my opinion.

And much smaller wingspan.

Waiters is a much better shooter out of college. Wade is also .75inch taller with a 4inch longer wingspan though.

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

The cockiness is a good thing, in my opinion. He's got some swagger that this team could really use. It's a "I'm better than you and I'm going to prove it" attitude.

And from watching him this past year, he doesn't seem like the type who's going to kill our execution down the stretch. He's pretty unselfish for being so confident.

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

They could have just thought that Waiters was an overall, just flat out better player than Robinson. I'm watching this UConn Syracuse game, and the game is close, he comes off the bench, scores 10 points and gives them a 10 point lead, then goes back to the bench with 2 fouls. The team then loses the 10 point lead only to lead by 3 at the half. When he was in the game, he completely controlled the tempo and the flow of the game. This is just one game, but it's impressive to see while not knowing much about the guy.

I didn't say he was Wade's identical twin.

Re: Welcome Dion Waiters

Ok things I like... Has the Attitude and moves and shot like wade. To be honest If you put him In a heat uniform and I did not know I would think It was wade for a second He has the potential to have the Wade build and skill set. He Is better than Stucky however as W&G mentioned he could be just that a every score he makes he could give u up. However He Is with a coach who gets his team In shape and Is known to make a difference In players so fixing that will be up to Scott and he got a project here with Waiters. For me looks and names often are big to me and his look and name Point to Star player eventually. He has potential to be the next Westbrook type of pick and Again he Is the Andre Drummond of SG's

weakness Is he seems overconfident and snobby at times, He lacks something In his game... I think It had to do with his issues with his coach. I think knowing he will come In and be a possible and eventual starter will make me him motivated like never before. I think his weakness can become strengths. His biggest weakness Is defense we know that. However He can give it his all when motivated... Basically we missed out on Ray Allen 1.0 for the hopes of shades of wade. Basically Grant swung for the fences to get their guy.

Needs motivation a good culture and good team mates and a coach who cares and he can become great. I am so so on this however I see potential yet I see... well you know. My true feeling hate the pick at 4, I would have taken Robinson but Oh well I might be eating my words In two years.
