CJ fits in the starting lineup and Dion is a perfect guard to have off the bench. That's a good fit IMO.

Tristan and AV starting together just doesn't help anyone in that starting lineup...

I hate that argument.

To be frank, Kyrie is the perfect guard to bring off the bench as he's more instant offense than Dion. I'm not vouching for Kyrie to come off the bench by any means. All I'm saying is that the argument that Dion's skill set fits that of a sixth man is irrelevant and moot to me.

Irving/Waiters/Deng/Bennett/Varejao, let Jack do what he was signed to do, with CJ spreading the floor, and Tristan cleaning up.

What is that again? I've forgotten, since he has brought absolutely nothing positive to this team. Even on a good night for the team, Jarrett had no part in it... aside from nearly costing us the game at the end.

He's the 2nd best player on our roster. Reallllly hope the Cavs know what they're doing with this kid. Get a real coach this past offseason and instead of talking about the Kyrie vs. Dion issues we'd be arguing that Kyrie & Dion could be one of the best young backcourts in basketball.

Nowhere near ready to give up on this kid in wine and gold.

Was Jarret Jack was signed to play with no energy, miss clutch free throws or just fuck this team up in general ?
That is all he is doing, so give him zero minutes. He sucks so much.

Trading Dion this early means its clearly a fail on Mike Brown, especially if you're in the group of support for Chris Grant. A season in a half and you're already wanting to trade the 4th overall pick in the draft. Talk about knee-jerk reaction. That begs to ask the question why the fuck did we draft him?

When you have a very young team like we do, and things go bad, they REALLY go bad. Tempers flare, guys get moody, guys that might have been approachable, become unapproachable, and it just becomes a trickle down effect. I get it, things can go off the rails fast.

If we want to go on past history alone with Dion Waiters, just look at his stint with Syracuse. He went there and wanted to start, Boeheim said no. He pouted, he clashed against Boeheim, and thought about transferring. Boeheim put him in his place, but did it in a way that he could still get through to Dion. He's proven alone that Dion can be approachable. It worked, Dion finally embraced his role, and helped make Syracuse a top ranked team in the country.

That doesn't sound like a problem child incapable of getting through to. Maybe a problem child, but one that you put under the right guidance can be managed and salvaged.

Kyrie is a mess, Dion is a mess. But both of them haven't been given the chance to be put with a guy capable of making it work.

C.J. doesn't fit as a starting 2 unless you have a creator like LeBron James at the 3, and we don't. We see what Deng looks like when he is forced to facilitate offense. C.J. would fit perfectly at the 3 along side Kyrie and Dion, provided he can guard the opposing 3.

Kyrie 12 dimes dion 1, if we could somehow lock these guys in a room together until they figured out that it is better for the team and each of them personally if they are BOTH doing well.

Imagine them both averaging six assists while selflessly playing off of each other with a ton of motion. One can only dream.

It was nice to see them both on the court, but this was more of a situation with Dion simply being on fire than a major change in how the two were working together, or Dions attitude in general. Dion goes as his shot goes. Unfortunately for every night like tonight he historically lays three eggs.

Dion had one assist, but he had some nice passes that could have easily ended in assists, that pretty pass from under the basket to Delly on the wing. Delly bricked it, but it was as wide open as you can get a guy in the half court. Had a couple other passes that were bricked jumpers.

Man he is starting to look Wade-quick on some of his drives. It was probably just Beal being the defender, though. :chuckles:

He was so fucking screwed by Brown this year. I know we've all heard about his bad attitude but he is a different player when he gets to play with Delladova.

With him, he's a confident SG who feels comfortable being the focal point in the offense: not only is he more efficient shooting, he confident about rotating the ball because he knows he'll get the ball back if Delly doesn't think he has something. When he was taken to the bench, him and Delly should have been given the reins. How ironic that Grant's draft picks were screwed up by our marquee FA signing in Jack and his college buddy who refused to play the better lineup.

I also don't get the bitching about his assist number: he had some nice passes including a critical one to AV at the end of the game that got AV to the line off a very nice drive and dish where Dion could have easily put up an off balance jumper because the shot clock was running low

Was at the game tonight, few rows behind the Cavs bench. Dion played great and was really looking good. Also, the guy is very emotional. Sometimes it works in his favor, but far too often he's treating refs poorly (and then wondering why he's not getting calls later), not getting back on D because he's pissed off about something, etc. I love his passion, especially with Kyrie never changing his facial expression. But I could see at the game why his "attitude" has been an issue.

He's got keep working on the mental aspect of defense. He has too many bad lapses. When he's locked in, he can really guard. But there was out-of-bounds play under our rim, where his man just walked to the corner, and Dion had his back to him, lost him, and they just threw him the ball for a wide-open corner 3. He missed it, but it was bad.

Then near the end on the John Wall dunk, when there was no reason to reach, he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and Wall made him look silly for it.
