I think we first need to recognize what is an open shot for a shot creator who get paid to take those shots.

Waiters shots in the second half were primarily with the offense typically after kyrie and AV ran a pick and roll when they were on the court together. not the ball stopper. and they were shots tha were i rhythm.

my thoughts on Waiters and Kyrie, bring in a coach who demands respect and allows these guys to play together and get past their "problems" to reach success. The talent they both have is unique and can cause a big advantage for us

Exactly. This team will become deadly in the backcourt when Dion and Kyrie can play together without issue. Two guards who can penetrate at will with mad handles (Kyrie) and another who has an explosive first step (Dion) will be hard to guard. Get TT to knock down his jumpers or get AB in there, they'll have a field day with the amount of space they can work with.

Lionel Hollins could put these kids in their place ego-wise and put them in their proper roles on the floor.

Also would get them to defend better than Brown.

Exactly. I am so damn tired of the "lets all blame Dion schtick". The problem is the pushover coach.

In before the masses line up to give Dion hand jibbers based off of one late game dunk. Despite the fact that it took him 21 shots to get 18 points on 33% shooting :chuckles:

Had to troll, overall good effort from him, just needs to learn to dial it back when his shot isn't falling and impact the game in other ways. Kyrie is guilty of doing the same thing on nights when hes off.

Most importantly MB seems to have completely shut down Clark and JJ is seeing 15 minutes a game. Might as well just start Dion at this point and let JJ play a true backup role.

Dion had a big impact on the game, for both teams ( :chuckles: ) two times he helped extend our lead, but in the last 5 minutes of the 4th he was a disaster, allowing Memphis to come back.

He needs to realize he can't be jacking bad shots and dribbling off his own foot in the last 5 minutes. When he misses one or two, he needs to start passing. It will come with more experience.

All in all, he played great. Idgaf about his 7-21. He was active all damn game and played like 25+ minutes straight.

if dion wasnt out there shooting those shots Memphis would of dialed in .. meaning no open shots for cj and even uglier offense than we saw. shooting guareds...shoot.

Please keep Dion on this team. I will be so damn sad if he's traded.

Oh, and start him. Fuck Jack.

He was 2-10 in the first half then 5-11 the rest of the way. Don't know why but he tends to start game shooting poorly and then settles in as the game goes on. My guess is that it has a lot do with him playing with Delly. They have good chemistry.

Overall good game for him as he was able to find open shooters and hit the glass despite the poor shooting percentgae

We've got to start Dion man. We have to play Kyrie and Dion together as much as possible so they can get some type of chemistry together and figure out how to player with each other. The success of this team depends on it.

Did you watch the game? Even taking some bad shots, the offensive flow, ball movement, and especially the defense were noticeably better with Waiters on the floor. All season he has been pretty good about contributing when his shot isn't falling.

He's got to start and if things don't work out, you move him in the offseason.
