Hawes body checking him was the cause. I really wish the NBA called fouls on bigs that move while in mid air, they seem to ignore body contact when their hands are straight up, even though the body contact is what's likely to cause an injury.

If they maintain their position in the air, and the offensive player creates the contact, it shouldn't be a foul on them. Hawes' contact on that play was minimal at best. If that was a Sixer hyperextending his leg you wouldn't be blaming(and certainly not be asking for a foul on) Zeller or Thompson or Bennett etc... The problem was that Dion overstepped on his landing and hyperextended his knee.

Dion's incident was freak. He slapped through two guys then tried to avoid contact with a third on the way down and hyper extended his knee. Shit happens.

Give the rest he needs. We should be able to win the three games without him if Varejao is ready to come back in the next couple of games.

If Dion can keep a chip on his shoulder to use as motivation against opponents and self improvement only, watch out. Not much fires up the team and fans like Dion attacking the rim and throwing it down ala last night.

One of the major problems with the Dion/Kyrie back court is that the Cavs don't have enough outside shooting from their bigs to open up the driving lanes. AB is the best bet on the roster but I sure would like to see him punish his guy in the paint more.

He should sit out 4 games at least.

Why? To restart the tank? He should play as soon as he is capable. He looked like it might be starting to come together for him in recent games. He doesn't need an extended layoff to throw him out of rhythm again.

I think he's back by the OKC game. But damn son, we gotta win this ORL game and at least split with Toronto.
