The list is for NBA Sophomores & JV waited a year to come over so that's why he's on the list. But even if I was a Dion pessimist I. Couldn't put him any lower than 6th or 7th.

He specifically states the 2012 draft class.

I can't believe he's still pushing the Drummond for MVP thing. ESPN humiliates itself on a regular basis, but this is atrocious even by their usual standards, ranking up there with the time Doolittle said Westbrook was the best player in the Thunder-Heat series.

The draft class of 2012 was never considered as one that would be talked about for years, but like some of the players in this group, time has revealed a lot more to be excited about. This class has future MVP winners, league leaders in a number of statistical categories and plenty of impact players and star power. It should also feature future Olympians, as well as some guys who start for title teams.

There are still three names that are pulling much of the weight for this group, but the "middle class" is getting richer each month. Everyone is excited about the upcoming draft class this June, and while it will have no problem outshining the current crop of rookies, there is serious doubt it can top what this sophomore class is in the process of accomplishing. From top to bottom, these 20 guys can measure up to about any class seen in recent years.

Im tired of these editors changing the titles instead fof m,akng these writers correct their mistakes

That's how it is with every draft that's considered "weak". I could care less about what arbitrarily measures the media and incompetent FO personnel use in order to rationalize their drivel about "weak" drafts.

There is no such thing as "weak" draft. Please bring up 2003 as if any other fucking draft isn't "weak" compared to that one.

Unrelated but I can't believe we missed on Terrence Jones for Tyler Zeller. Grant can kick rocks for that one.

If Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe can form one of the most dynamic back court in the NBA, so can Kyrie and Dion.

The difference here is coaching and the fact that Eric Bledsoe is really good at playing defense.

Dion reverting to his lousy rookie year shooting mechanics on some of these jumpers. You can say it doesn't matter because he's hitting them at a decent rate, but man I wish he would just stick to that clean, compact, straight up and down form he was starting to show over the last few months.

Valanciunas has often been grouped together with the 2012 class. I would like to think it was just bad editing, but in any event the terms "sophs" and 2012 draft class have been (incorrectly) conflated, as they do refer to slightly different groups of players.

I actually like Thorpe. He has been consistently skeptical of Waiters, so I will give him his consistency. In Thorpe's defense, Waiters' numbers really are pretty much the same this year as last year. I think that Thorpe has always been biased in favor of big men, and I have wondered whether this is because he holds basketball camps that seem to be geared toward big men. Maybe he doesn't hold these camps any more though. I am a big fan of Andre Drummond's work -- as Thorpe says, his consistency has been remarkable -- but to assert that he is borderline MVP (of the NBA!) is hyperbole at this point.

I think Thorpe is mostly wrong about perceptions of the 2012 draft though. It was felt at the time to be a relatively strong draft. Some didn't think it was, including Chris Grant. Even though some players who were thought at the time by some to be reason for the strength of the class have underperformed (Barnes, Rivers), I think the 2012 class is turning out to be pretty good.

I loved Terrence Jones cumming out of college. My player comparison for him turned out to be asinine, but man is he gonna be a stud.

Thorpe's list is a joke. The only two players in that draft that should clearly be ahead of Waiters are Davis and Lillard. After that, I would have Waiters 3rd, just ahead of Drummond, although Drummond could overtake him if he learns how to play offensive basketball.

Bucks game stat tonight for Dion 23pts 4 assts 5 steals fg% 53% 3P% 50% FT%75% He played tough all night . Kyrie was M.I.A. tonight. DOn't know if he was having some pain or what. It was weird.

Absolutely no reason for him to be behind Terrence Ross

Hey man, didn't you read his blurb? Ross is only the third youngest player shooting over 39% from three this year in the entire NBA.

I dont mind the current rotation at all. you sit Dion let kyrie play for a bit. Waiters gets a breather comes back out and your second team with dion then with about 6-8 minutes left you sit dion bring out kyrie and let dion take a breather and bring him back in.

Dion came of the bench the cavs lost. he comes in the starting unit and they are winning. not sure why this 6th man crap keeps coming up.

The Spurs have had starting caliber shooting guards. for ginobli to come out. and when they are playing starter quality minutes. pops has no hesitation to put ginobli in the starting lineup.

I like Brown starting him and he takes him out around the 7th or 8th min; re-inserts him with the bench in the 2nd quarter. He just flat out more productive with them. Starters are still trying to get a rhythm going. Idk about you. It seems starters have flounder around most of the season to get a rhythm. The bench of Delly, Andy, Dion , Zeller , Jack have figured it out better.

The killer there in Thorpe's rankings has to be that Beal is a great shooter, while Waiters is inefficient. Guess which guy has the better TS% and eFG%? The two stats designed to measure overall shooting efficiency.

Waiters now has a higher PER than Beal. It seems like Thorpe just wants to add to the general narrative that Dion is just a volume scorer.
