Of course he can play with Wiggins. They are perfect for each other. And Wiggins won't ever be on the bench. But since Wiggins has SF skills and SF length, it would make sense to play him there and let him hit open shots and dunk lobs from our playmaking guards.

I don't see how he cannot play with Wiggins. Wiggins will be coming off the bench you would assume to start the season. Plus Dion showed this year he is strong enough to play the 3. If you have a lineup Irving, Dion, Wiggins, Irving can play the 1 or 2, Dion can play the 1,2,3 and Wiggins could play the 2,3, then Wiggins could guard the best player on the court at the 1,2,3.

With a roster as its currently constructed, who would start at the 3 if Wiggins came off the bench? Why would we assume this? Gee is gone and Miles is a free agent. Are you suggesting we start Karasev over our #1 overall pick? I'm just a bit confused..

kyrie/waiters/wiggins/thompson (or bennett)/AV sounds fine to me...

My assumption is, Wiggins will start..

I am making the assumption that we will sign another 3 to be the starter. If we are serious about developing Wiggins and making a playoff run, it would not make sense to start Wiggins from day 1. If we had drafted Parker I could agree.

Wiggins needs to start from day one. I'll be livid if he doesn't. Forget about short-term goals. The payoff of developing Wiggins is far greater than just making the playoffs this year.

awesome shot, but what a horribly drawn up inbounds play :chuckles:

Arguably the story of the season. We probably lost at least 5 games because we couldn't inbound the basketball in the final minute of a game.

We're very serious...but in no way does that imply that Wiggins can't start Game 1. He's already our best defender...that will be enough to earn him a starting job out of the gate. Play him with Kyrie and Dion, and you don't need to worry about him creating offense.

Similar to how we developed Bennett? (sarcasm face here)

Seriously though why would we assume that we'll sign another 3 to start? How many options are available that would likely have a greater impact and make more sense to start over Wiggins? I can think of two or three...And if we lucked out and landed someone like James I would still argue a starting lineup with Irving/Dion/Wiggins/James..

I don't want to throw this thread topic off but I think the clear need right now is a rim protecting center. And maybe another BACKUP wing.

Oh..and Wiggins should start..

If we sign LJ I am not sure if I would start him. The key is we wont know if he would start until after the roster is complete. There is so much we don't know yet, the conversation of will he start or not start is a non starter until we know more.

Back to the topic, if we do keep Dion I think Wiggins is a perfect fit with him, and does not effect his playing time.

Wiggins is starting regardless. Either at the 3 with Waiters still on the team or at the 2 with Lebron on the team. Absolutely no doubt about it.

If we sign LeBron that's even more reason to start Wiggins. Let's him develop by playing with the best player on the planet.

Yea, it really doesn't matter who is on the roster, Wiggins should start. Add another wing and he should start at the 2.

I think Dion could have a fruitful career in management after he retires. He sounds like my supervisor with his frequent use of "at the end of the day".

With all the talk of trading Dion, I've been watching a lot of his videos on youtube to see if he, Irving, and Wiggins can co-exist in a starting line-up. I'm of the belief that Wiggins is a SF. I know what Griff said, but honestly I take what he says with a grain of salt. Not that I don't believe he sees Wiggins as a SG. I'm waiting for Blatt to comment on it because he's the one that is going to set the rotation, not Griffin.

Re-watched his epic performance in the Rising Stars game.

I'm confident Blatt can get these guys to effectively play together.

Dion posted a picture earlier looking a little out of shape and heavy, but he's got plenty of time to get in shape. But if that was Kyrie, people would be all over him :chuckles: I went back to get the picture and post it on here but he deleted it. He was getting some pretty hateful comments, I don't blame him.
