Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah that's right Dion is in the game till the very end playing minutes over Reggie Jackson . They know that Waiters defense is valuable to their lineup.

Yeah, because Dion's +/- of -10 (largest on their team) was so much better than Jackson's +/- of +2 last night....

Because +/- is such a great stat...

True. I guess whether or not your team outscores the other team or the other team outscores your team when you are on the court should not matter. Basically if your team plays better than the other team while you're on the court shouldn't matter.

Dion Waiters (OKC) Per 36: 15.1 points/1.6 assists/2.7 rebounds/2.0 steals/.457 TS%

J.R. Smith (CLE) Per 36: 15.8 points/1.9 assists/3.8 rebounds/2.0 steals/.537 TS% (plus better fit)

Oh, and we got Shumpert and 1/2 of Mozgov. I think it's fair to say this trade was fantastic for us.

Still looks like the same Dion to me alternating between intriguing to pissing one off. Have to say I like his defense: he ended his tenure with the Cavs playing better D and it's continued with OKC.

He's got to get better basketball IQ on offense he IMO has the talent to be a 6th man of the year type but again last night in a critical tight playoff like game just tossed up a 3 with more then 20 seconds on the shot clock with OKC up a point. Just a dumb shot.

Dion's not going to settle in with the Thunder until they trade Reggie Jackson. I'm still convinced that happens by the deadline, gotta get something for him before they let him walk at the end of the year. We'll see, still a lot of career left in front of Dion, but every week that passes, I get less convinced that he's ever going to "get it".

What's to argue about with this trade? Dion wasn't going to mature here, for various reasons, some his fault and some not. He is doing well with the Thunder, but the sample size is too small. Just remember - it wasn't going to work here - the experiment had run its course, just as JR was not going to work in NY.

We gave up some stuff and got some new stuff. So far, it's looking good for both teams, and it's looking better for the Cavs than I would have thought, but it's way too early to call anything.

Reggie Jackson has nothing to do with it, we need to stop making excuses. Sometimes we draft a player that we are all invested in and he just doesn't pan out. Dion just isn't a winning player in any facet and he is physically limited, which is very apparent when you watch a real SG like JR Smith (faster, longer, more explosive by far).

He got 34 minutes off the bench and had the 3rd most shots on the team. He's just simply a bad player. Hes going to have 1 or 2 okay games followed by 3-5 goose eggs over and over. And, the okay games are simply going to be scoring and maybe a steal or two as he contributes little else. He provides nothing but scoring, and he is a low IQ player. No more excuses for the guy please.

I mean hell he is so delusional he had 1-2 average games and said "yeah man they get me the ball" Well Dion, You actually are getting the ball LESS with OKC and you still don't contribute to winning basketball.

* I'm starting to hate myself as much as when I had to post in the AB thread :chuckle:

Shumpert just posted a stat-line similar to Dion's season averages. In 10 minutes. On 3 shots.

Maybe this will finally humble Dion.

He is not going to be a consistently effective NBA player until the reality of his game gets more in line with his opinion of it.

Nothing will ever humble Dion lol.

I wish Dion would've got traded to Knicks

I just feel like this is another bad situation for him. He needs to be on a team with a pass first point guard.

He probably just needs a different profession all together.

He would have at least been happy there.

A losing team that lets him shoot as much as he wants is like a wet dream for Dion. Philly should have really made a play for him.
