Draft Day!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Perkins was rated as a third round corner, but one report I read said he may be the best return man in the draft. Doesn't excite me, but I won't complain...

Antonio Perkins was a steal. Savage doing great, but we could use some lineman on both sides of the ball. But all of savages picks so far have been exceptional. Has gotten great value on all his picks.

Antonio perkins will be a nickle back, and return man. And yes, he's an awesome returner, by far the best in this draft.

Perkins is a bad pick, we didnt need a DB, we have plenty.

We need some OL help, four rounds go by and we havent addressed it yet? Pathetic..

He brought in Andruzzi, we still dont have a good LT, and we have ZERO depth. So he cuts Garmon and has yet to draft an OL, I dont know what he is thinking, but you build your line through the draft. There isnt going to be anything but over paid vets after June 1st, so we are hurting in a bad way at OL again and we have done nothing to improve it in the draft.

And LOL at Edwards making our OL better. WRs dont make a OL better, Edwards isnt going to get any deep balls because our OL is still average to below average and one injury away from being complete crap. Winslow makes in OL better because he takes LBs away from the pass rush, but not Edwards..

At the end of the day, I dont like the pick, but I cant be mad. He could be a great player and I cant be mad at that. It still doesnt take away the fact that he will never take us to a super bowl, but I do agree that the trade down wasnt there so you take the best player available and that's what we were forced to do.

Im still very upset how four rounds can go by and we have not addressed the OL.,.

And Sheed, Luke is still on our team but him or Jacobs are supposed to be traded at some point today.

4 103 Antonio Perkins CB 5-11 188 Oklahoma
5 139 David McMillan DE 6-3 246 Kansas

Uh.. Not sure how either are these guys are but I have to agree with A Mac.. We need help on the Oline... But then again none of these 3rd/4th round linemans wont start anyways.

Luke McCown was traded to Tampa Bay for a 6th round pick.

Browns take David McMillen DE/OLB from Kansas with the 5th round pick.

Wow.. That really surprised me that we are trading Luke McCown.. I guess we though he doesn't have a future as a starter int he NFL.

That means Frye would be back up QB then right?

I also think you have to look at the draft class when looking at depth. This draft was weak on OL with a talent with no heart (Barron), a RT who has no lateral movement (Brown), and a center from Ole Miss going in the first round. Is it really worth taking a OL in the 5th round just to take one when in a normal draft he may not be selected at all. The D-Line depth was a little better in the draft, but not overwhelming either.

Frye and Josh Harris (both MAC QBs) will be the back-ups, at least for right now. You may see a veteran training camp fodder added (Garrett, etc.) to compete for a job, but I think they'll go with those three.

I got to agree with you here.. The O-Line was pretty weak in this years draft. Yes we need help in that area but why take someone just to say we took a O-Lineman but we all know he probaly won't even play? So I can see why Savage took a D-Line and other defensive position just because then they can make a impact there.

Although we keep hearing it every year, with the OL class next year, it should be possible to get a top one. McNeil, Winston, Ferguson, etc. are all top-tier OTs who should be there in the first round next year. We should have a relatively early pick again next year since we're rebuilding and can look there. The only OT I liked was Khalif Barnes, and even he had heart questions of how often he actually tried.

Of course, that is the knock on McMillen as well. He is a nice rusher off the corner, but his heart can be questioned a little bit.

well we did pass up on a monster lineman from virginia. dont remember his name but he was huge.

A Mac, i am just going to assume that you are just joking with your posts cause they are nothing but utter garbage and full of you bitching.

Are you talking about Elton Brown in the fourth? Or D'Brickshaw Ferguson, who decided to go back to Virginia before the draft?

cant remember. it was in the fourth and he was like 6'5" and 340. looked like he ran pretty well in the highlights. but it was only a couple of picks after us.

• Cleveland Browns: New general manager Phil Savage did it the Baltimore way -- he stayed patient and he made solid selections. By being patient, Savage didn't call the Dolphins, who were trying to fleece an extra pick out of them to trade up to No. 2 and take wide receiver Braylon Edwards of Michigan. He didn't rush the selection of quarterback Charlie Frye of Akron and ended up getting one of the steals of the draft in the third round. Brodney Pool was a low first-round talent drafted in the second round at free safety. Savage is changing seven starters on defense, but he knows he can't rush things. Edwards and Frye are the future. Pool will jump in as a starter. It's a great start.

ESPN anaylst John Clayton Listes Browns as one of the winners of the draft.
