ECF: Cavs 4 - Hawks 0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LeBron was playing mental game with Atlanta, and CRUSHING them in both said mental games and on the box score. When LeBron gave up on defense on Shroeder like Jordan did on Bogues, which both resulted in air balls, LeBron knows he can win the mental war. This game 1 win is bigger than you guys even think. If we win Game 2, consider that the dagger

I don't think anyone, on offense or defense, expected to find the Red Sea, post-Moses-and-his-staff. Where was the other big (besides Millsap)? Why was there no one to impede LBJ's path to the rim?
Horford was out defending Thompson who set the screen about 25 ft away from the bucket :chuckle:

Demarre's diagnosis from the MRI is sprained knee with a bone bruise, according to the media quoting Atlanta team sources. The bone bruise is supposed to be much more painful than the sprain, and from all the online sources I can find it takes a minimum of 2 weeks to heal a bone bruise in the case that is is minor, much more (up to a year) if it is severe. He may be able to play through the pain this series but he will be risking a more severe re-injury if he does play.

Did the bone bruise come from knocking knees with LeBron? Because the hyperextension was a non-contact injury, right?

I don't know the answer, but according to sources on the web, bone bruises can occur with non-contact injuries.
Here is a good summary without all the medical lingo:
Knee FAQ - Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

From the short article:
Studies have shown that the severity of bone bruising is a direct result of the energy of the injury. Contact injuries (the athlete is hit by another player or falls and makes contact with the ground) have more energy behind them than non-contact injuries (the foot is planted on the ground and the player makes a sudden change in direction). ...
...Hyperextension injuries of the knee or overload along the side of the knee are other ways bone bruising can occur.

So it sounds like if he both hyperextended his knee and knocked knees with LeBron to cause the bruise then it is worse, but just the hyper-extension can cause the bruise by itself.

As someone who got a bone bruise on his thigh once, let me tell you that it can be some of the most intense pain you can feel. I literally couldn't put pressure on it after it happened.

That being said, even if Carroll plays...blood in the water for LeBron. Good luck with that, Carroll. Maybe you could hang for 5 minutes. But the beast that is LeBron, who plays 40+ minutes a night in the playoffs without breaking a sweat, is going to eat you alive.

Have no idea why Horford came so far out to stay with Tristan on that PnR. It wasn't like Lebron's jumper was on and I think Budenholzer would have lived with Lebron taking a 20 footer if Tristan picked off Milsap.

I wanted Kyrie on Carroll from the beginning.

Irving listed as questionable..getting another MRI..Harris called up..

I guess it may be time to hide Delly instead of Kyrie.

Harris has been on the bench for all of the playoffs...
That doesn't mean he was listed as eligible to play.

I really hope we dont get crazy with the rotations with Kyrie out. I'd rather see more JR and a touch of Marion. Kyrie hasn't been playing his usual minutes anyway and we've done well without going too deep into the bench.
