ESPN Power Rankings

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Knicks projected at 37 wins?? Gonna drop 17 wins from last year?

And a 13 win separation between us and Detroit?

Well, if one supposes that the East is better, top to bottom, and it seems everyone thinks that way, then it is almost necessary that the Heat will drop more games. Probably not that many, but some.

I think we're gonna have a tougher road than many around here are predicting, but some of our low placement on these predictions is based on there being no on court proof that our team will win. Combine that with some pretty serious injury concerns and you can see why a relatively unbiased person might not see us making the playoffs.

I think Kyrie, Andy, Jack and Tristan are gonna rock this year. I have high hopes for others, but we're gonna have to see it happen on the court before the national media will consider us a serious threat.

he has the heat dropping 14 games too - is this supposed to be Hollinger's replacement?

I can see the Heat dropping off. They either will be championship Caliber or it's over. See the Playoffs. They were A bit above .500. I saw it as a window into the fact that this will be a team with a better Lebron and a WORSE supporting cast than many CAVS teams. So still a very good team, but Wade is either far more hurt, or simply running on empty.

Also, just consider "the streak", how many games they probably should've lost. Hell, that includes the CAVS. That right there takes them down 5 games, and that's assuming Wade is a himself, which I truly believe he won't be, nor do I think that the "cast" can play at the level they had to.

Yea, I mean people think these mid to high 30 win predictions are unfair, but is it really? What makes more sense, to predict great health for a team loaded with guys who have been nothing but constantly injured, or predict, that more likely than not, this team will have major injury problems again this year, and thus, will struggle? They aren't Cleveland fans. They aren't required to take a rosy outlook on the very real chance that we have a bunch of bad injuries.

It's not that I don't think we can win 40+ games, but I definitely think people should temper expectations a bit. They are going to have some really off nights that are going to be frustrating. They're still very young. Going from 24 wins to 44 is a pretty ideal world to live in, but probably doesn't indicate reality. Winning 37 should be seen as a pretty good accomplishment I think. Hopefully I'm way off and we win 50 or something, but I think there are too many things in our way. Injuries, new coach/philosophy, and most importantly youth.

I predict we'll see a team that is unbeatable some nights and a team that couldn't beat college team other nights. Just part of the growing process. Mike Brown's system apparently takes over a year to settle in, we got some time before that happens.

From the "If you publish enough different predictions, eventually one will be right" department comes another round of ESPN predictions.

This one is the average ranking from all submissions on the forcast panel.

That newest one doesnt bother me as much. DET and WAS stepped up their rosters a lot, regardless of how the teams look to project in a few years, both are set up pretty equally for this season alone

Cavs are currently ranked #2 behind the Golden State Warriors in every major power rankings in the media with 10 games to go.

The highest since Pre-Season.

(SI hasn't updated yet but the Cavs were number #2 last week and I doubt they drop)
