Fallout 4

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mods make these types of games so much better. I forget which game it was (i think 3) but there was a mod where you could toss nukes like 300 yards. That was crazy fun. I was sniping dudes with fucking atomic bombs.

LOL! I did the exact same fucking thing.. I know I did it in New Vegas, but I'm sure it probably worked in both..

Swimming makes me want to kill myself in Witcher 3. Luckily you don't really need to do that much of it.

I also wish they put in better boating mechanics, something involving the wind. Pretty minor overall though, you rarely do anything in the water except travel from place to place anyways.

I actually don't really mind the lack of a wind mechanic since you'd constantly have to worry about it. But yeah it's mostly just a travel mechanism, much like the horse. I do wish there were more fast travel points via boat, though.

By the way, kudos to Bethesda for using my dog in the Fallout 4 trailer:

Looks exactly fucking like him. One of my buddies texted me this morning and pointed that out before I'd even seen the trailer. :chuckle:

Thank the lord this is finally happening. Bethesda is one of my favorite companies.

Too much Witcher in this thread. Fallout 4! Fallout 4!

Trailer looks incredible... Folks are saying that the trailer looks like console graphics though. But I could care less.

Meh, if I wanted to read about Witcher though I'd go to that thread.

In fact, heading there now. brb.

I really wish they would have just released the gameplay video(s) along with the trailer. Trailers are good for building hype, I guess, but I put absolutely no stock in non-gameplay videos these days. Hell, even gameplay videos can see pretty significant changes from early previews to final product (see: Watch Dogs and, to a lesser extent, Witcher 3).

New Vegas took over my life. Playing it on the PC with mods was just.. fuck...

I had the same exact problem....Not that I'm complaining, with mods on the PC that game is still great, even now.

I found one the other day that lets you get a Death Claw as a follower. You find an egg, hatch it and get a baby Death Claw. You have to protect it then feed it random animals until it grows up.

From what I've read on NeoGAF the trailers were all in engine footage. Can't wait to see more on this at E3 since some on NeoGAF have also mentioned that there will be a 15-20 minute game play demo shown also. No idea if it's going to be public or press only though.

Are you talking visually? Because does anybody really care about the visuals? Saw a lot of complaints and I thought they were mostly fine just the way they were.

I think we can glean plenty from gameplay videos. I anxiously await them in the next couple weeks.

Yeah I just meant visually for gameplay videos occasionally being misleading. Generally, I just want to see what the game plays like, not some overproduced trailer that isn't even remotely indicative of the final product.

I enjoy announcement trailers like this.

Usually they're just CG, but at least we saw the game world in engine. It gives us an idea about the art direction and what we will find in the world. Gameplay trailers at Bethesda's E3 event, no doubt, so we're not far out.

I'm pretty sure what we saw is what we'll get.. It looks like they are using cel-shading rendering for Fallout 4, which is likely so that the game can have a certain 'look' without being too demanding on the hardware. I think this decision was mostly due to wanting a console-heavy launch, which is totally understandable as I first played Fallout 3 on an Xbox.
