Fallout: 76

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So ... ??? ... :chuckle:

I'm just trying to figure out how you're getting from Point A to Point B? :chuckle:

Like.. did Sarkeesian get a designer credit in the game? Did she build a level? Write some dialogue? Or did she just show up, give a lecture, and split?
Anthem obliviously needs to be more woke than Andromeda was. Doubling down their efforts as they dig their own grave.

....

Kind of a common theme between yourself and these folks right? You all assert Bioware is going to fail because of inclusivity and appeals to diversity and that Anita Sarkeesian just showing up there entails their downfall.

Like, you couldn't make this shit up if you tried.. :chuckle:

No, it's because if Anthem bombs that will be three bombs in a row for bioware.

.. ?? .. What does that have to do with so-called SJWs?
If Anthem continues the trend, it would be three games in a row with major sjw pandering. Then again, Anthem doesn't look to be heavy on the narrative. It looks more like destiny, so who really knows. What we do know is they have a lot riding on this game and they are are of it. It's all hands on deck for this one. Another flop would put them in a very bad spot.

Anyway, back to fallout 76... Are you pre-ordering so you can beta test?

Yes, I'm definitely pre-ordering the game.

F76 has got all kinds of hate. I'm not sure why, maybe because it's not Fallout 5? This game was never pegged to be Fallout 5, It's supposed to a departure from the norm. Same reason that Elder Scrolls Online isn't ES:6. I'm glad they're trying something different.

I do share similar concerns with Jack, if it's a survival game, but there's no loss of progression/equipment on death, whats the point of the game? Survival games are fun because you build up your character/base and there's actually something on the line. With no threat of repercussion it will make the game dull. Is this a multiple RPG with pvp elements? Is this a survival game? They could run into an identity crisis here with not choosing a genre and sticking to it. The description of "softcore" scared me a bit.

I believe your shit can be fucked up while you're playing. It's just when you're offline your settlement can't be destroyed. which is reasonable because not a lot of us can play fall out 76 24 hours a day.

Also, the problem with survival games is if you go to a new server you start over. So saved progression in that way I think is more gamer friendly... I believe you can still have your corpse looted. I'm hoping there are high valuables in dangerous areas that people fight over.

They bought so many copies that EA put Mass Effect on ice.

Andromeda failed because former Mass Effect fans such as myself had no interest in it, and actively avoided it. It didn't fail because of romance options. It failed because the end of Mass Effect 3 was a disaster, which turned a lot of us off to the company, and they followed that up with the disappointing Inquisition, which was basically just Fetch Quest: The Game.

It failed because many of us no longer care for or support BioWare and aren't buying their products any more. Hell, this was illustrated today when IGN said they were doing a livestream of Cyberpunk 2077. When Anthem started playing instead, the video piled up almost 2000 dislikes in a matter of minutes. People just don't care about BioWare any more.

You don't lose anything, AFAIK when you die. It's really not a survival game at all, as I understand it.

Which makes me question what the fuck it actually is. If there are no NPCs, it won't feel like Fallout. And I have no idea where quests will come from if there are no NPCs, or if there will even be quests outside of the "break down 500 rocks so you can build some power armor" quests most survival games have.

A lot of questions will be answered in the beta. I tend to think you at least lose caps and ammo when you die. This game sounds like it will be mostly a sandbox experience.
