Is there a good strategy to draft, or just go for stars?

Something that I'm curious to trying is going after point guards and bigs, then fill out the 3 point specialists.

Guards, I'd focus on Ast, Stl, 3pt, FT%, Pts
Bigs, I'd focus on Reb, Blk, FG%, Pts

That's a strategy I'm going to try out. Probably stack up on what guards early like a Curry/Wall combo, Lillard/Wall, Lillard/Kyrie

Would anybody take Lowry over Wall/Kyrie? I wasn't planning on it, but rankings says otherwise.

I've got at least 8-10 strategies depending on who my first pick is. This a h2h league or a roto?

I draft for specific roles, try to get players with multiple position eligibility, etc. In large (16+ teams) leagues it usually boils down to grabbing players off waiver that step into big minutes because of trades, injuries, etc.

Also players having career years in new systems help a lot. Get lucky early on the wire, and you can usually ride to champions.

H2H 10 categories we added Double Doubles. Do you like targeting bigs early of guards/forwards

It's a 8 team money league too so I wanna get this right. Teams will be stacked but sleepers late would help dramatically.

Depends on who is available. I prefer to get wing scorers early and get bigs that rebound and block. But it all boils down to who that first pick is

Would you prefer getting one of the 7 PGs in the top 20?

Westbrook, Curry, CP3, Lillard, Lowry, Wall, Kyrie? I'll be guaranteed one.

My draft is tomorrow between. Trying to study up some rankings and per 36's. I wish I knew what pick I'm getting but it comes out 1 hour before draft.

I like to get players who get stats outside of their positions. Like guards who get rebounds and blocks (Wall, Lowry), big men who get steals, assists, and 3s (Blake, Love, Gasol, Mason Plumlee). I don't like drafting big men early because I think it's a lot easier to pick up rebounds and blocks with spot pickups. Quality guards are hard to get. Good wings are also limited.

Don't worry about targeting positions at the beginning. Just take the best player for the first few picks and fill out the team from there.

Throwing in an NBA lineup tonight on DK:

Here's what I got:

Irving
JR Smith
Melo
Lebron
Noah
Draymond
Exum
TT

I feel like this is a good lineup so I'll probably finish bottom 10%.

Tonight I am rolling with the lineup below for Fan Duel:

Lillard
Irving
JR Smith
Courtney Lee
Durant
Turner (off the bench...I know)
Green
Porzingis
Thompson

I just swapped Courtnee Lee and Aminu instead of TT and Exum. I think those two should provide better floors than TT and Exum.

Had my first and only fantasy basketball auction draft last night. Our league has three keeper slots, but unfortunately for me the three guys I've been keeping at bargain rates and rode to two championships (Curry, Griffin, and Harden) all expired this year and went back into the draft pool.

I ended up keeping Enes Kanter, Jordan Clarkson, and Jahlil Okafor, mostly because I had all three for basically nothing (I think one was four bucks, one was two, and the third was one) and they should be productive bench guys. I didn't have a whole lot of other options, sadly, with Curry, Harden, and Griffin off the table. I did get Harden back, but I paid a whole hell of a lot more for him this time. :chuckle:

Our league starts PG, SG, SF, PF, C, and FLEX with seven bench spots and one IR slot.

Anyway, my roster:

PG - Eric Bledsoe (PG)
SG - James Harden (SG, PG)
SF - Dwyane Wade (SG, SF)
PF - Dirk Nowitzki (PF)
C - Dwight Howard (C)
FLEX - Goran Dragic (PG)

BN - Jordan Clarkson (PG, SG)
BN - Jahlil Okafor (C)
BN - Enes Kanter (C)
BN - Chandler Parsons (SF)
BN - Bradley Beal (SG)
BN - Brandon Ingram (PF, SF)
BN - Dario Saric (SF, PF)
