Fantasy Basketball Thread!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have the best record in my league at 42-14. Team is starting to get some injuries. Hope I can pull through.

Ended up winning the league with a record of 105-38 including playoffs.

I'm in a three player keeper league. It's an auction format where you pay the previous year's value (plus a yet-to-be-determined fee) for any keepers. I'm trying to choose which three players I would like to keep. I'll list my roster and the values paid next to each player.

James Harden - 35
Stephen Curry - 10
Kyrie Irving - 46
Carmelo Anthony - 36
Brook Lopez - 7
Josh Smith - 47
Nikola Pekovic - 2
Klay Thompson - 15
Kyle Lowry - 12
Greg Monroe - 20
Kevin Garnett - 7
Tyreke Evans - 6
Carlos Boozer - 9
Andrea Bargnani - 5
Jordan Crawford - 1

Harden at 35 dollars is a total no-brainer. He'd go for over twice that in most auctions this year. I feel like Curry is an easy choice too for only ten dollars. There's no way he goes for anywhere close to that low today. That leaves me deciding between Kyrie and Carmelo. I'm leaning toward Kyrie but have the obvious concerns about his durability. Any thoughts?

If it's between those two, I'd go with Melo. Melo is $10 less and I'd need to see a couple years of Kyrie playing 70+ games before paying a bundle for him.

Lowry's pretty great value.

Pretty much everyone on that list is in play if you can give a compelling argument for them.

I'd like to get in a league if anyone needs players.

Haven't played fantasy basketball in years, but a couple buddies and I are looking to start a league and draft within the next week. Any recommendations on best fantasy basketball sites... Yahoo? ESPN? any others I'm unaware of?

In a keeper league where we get 2 players - where you lose the draft pick in the round associated with where the guy was chosen. In my case, I have a couple Free Agents or late rounders that I am considering, and am finding it tough to come to a conclusion. Would like some input. Here are my options:

Larry Sanders - FA pick up, so would lose last round pick
Nikola Pekovic - 13th round pick - would lose 13th
Jeff Green - FA pick up, lose last round pick
Kawhi Leonard - 10th round pick last year - would lose 10th rounder in this draft
Spencer Hawes - FA pickup - lose last round pick

John Wall - would lose 5th rounder if I keep him

Which 2 would you keep? I'll let you know who I'm leaning towards after a few opinions...

Keep Jeff Green and Kawhi. Pek only has one year left of keeperdom, since I took him last year.

Ha - I know man - can't make a decision. Need some outside input. Probably making too much of this. You will be stomped when the season begins.

And one of my keepers last year was Bynum. Thought he was gonna blow up in Philly. I was high on that team last year. Ouch.

Is it a 9-cat? Kawhi is the clear choice, and I would choose Sanders over Green, though both are great options. If it's another 14-cat though I would go Green.

11 categories, including turnovers: Field Goal Percentage (FG%), Free Throws Made (FTM), Free Throw Percentage (FT%), 3-point Shots Made (3PTM), 3-point Percentage (3PT%), Points Scored (PTS), Total Rebounds (REB), Assists (AST), Steals (ST), Blocked Shots (BLK), Turnovers (TO)

Jigo - you gotta add Offensive Rebounding.

My original thoughts were Sanders and Wall. I think Wall goes 2nd round in the upcoming draft - the spread between that and the 5th I would lose is minimal. Think it might be worth more value to keep of those late round guys, as the "round" spread is much greater.

Think I'm keeping Sanders for sure. His blocks and potential in MKE this season entice me. Waffling between Green, Pek and Kawhi for the other spot.

Sorry I'm not quite sure i understand what you are saying here. I think Green and Kawhi are between 4th and 6th rounders (in a ten team league), and the difference between last and ~5th is much greater than 5th and 2nd imo. Those 2 extra cats make me change my opinion from sanders to Green, as at least the FTM heavily favors him.

By spread, I mean the pick I would actually lose because of the keeper versus where they would potentially be drafted if they were available. It's a 12 team league with 13 players per - so fairly deep.

For example, if I keep Sanders, I lose my 13th round pick. Who cares, right? If he was available, he may go in the 5th round (just guessing). That spread is 8 rounds - 8 rounds of value on that keeper. I lose a 5th if I keep Wall. If he were to go in the 2nd round, there may not be as much value.

Probably all moot as it seems Jigo locked in our keepers leading up to tomorrow night's draft.

CCF, I just set your keepers to Sanders and Kawhi because that's who you have selected.

You can most definitely change if you want. Just lemme know and I'll do it manually.
