Fantasy Football 2018

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did a ten team auction draft tonight. It's kind of strange format. 2QB/3RB/4WR/1TE/1K/1DEF for the starting lineups and ten bench spots. It's also an auction draft with a 200 dollar budget. Player values in (). It's zero PPR and QBs get six points per touchdown.

My team:

QB - Carson Wentz (16)
QB - Andrew Luck (7)
RB - Devonta Freeman (23)
RB - Dalvin Cook (28)
RB - Mark Ingram (12)
WR - Stefon Diggs (21)
WR - Mike Evans (24)
WR - Amari Cooper (15)
WR - Josh Gordon (13)
TE - Kyle Rudolph (3)
K - Justin Tucker (1)
DEF - Carolina (1)

BN - Case Keenum (6)
BN - Teddy Bridgewater (1)
BN - Jamaal Williams (8)
BN - Sony Michel (5)
BN - Nick Chubb (1)
BN - Peyton Barber (3)
BN - Allen Robinson (8)
BN - Dez Bryant (1)
BN - Chris Godwin (2)
BN - Sterling Shepherd (1)

---

Think I did pretty well there. Got five starting RBs and two lottery tickets in Michel and Chubb. I've got four or five guys with top ten WR potential and took a shot on Dez, not to mention grabbing Godwin as Evans' handcuff. Somehow got Sterling Shepherd for a buck at the end when two teams could have outbid me. No idea how that happened. Also got three starting QBs and another guy who might end up a starter.

All in all, feeling pretty good there. Can't wait to see how the fantasy gods strike me down.

Stacked team.

Hopefully you can hit on one of those backs and swing a deal for a better TE.

Just got done with a PPR, 12-team draft that forces you to start the following:

QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/K/DEF

No flex spot so you are forced to start three wide outs. Seven reserves. Had the ninth pick in the draft in a snake format.

QB - Kirk Cousins
RB - Melvin Gordon
RB - Jay Ajayi
WR - Julio Jones
WR - Stefon Diggs
WR - Brandin Cooks
TE - O.J. Howard
K - Matt Prater
DEF - Jacksonville

BE - Jared Goff
BE - C.J. Anderson
BE - Chris Thompson
BE - Robby Anderson
BE - Tyler Lockett
BE - Braxton Miller
BE - Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Took Braxton in the last round as a joke. Everybody drafted either somebody out of the league completely (Tebow and Kaepernick were both selected), a Buckeye (guys like Braxton, JT, Baugh, etc), or an ungodly irrelevant Brown.

We'll drop our mascot picks after W1 and then jump into the waivers, but all in all, I think I've got a good team. I definitely have the best QB duo in the league, my RBs are alright (hoping Ajayi rebounds with a full year in Philly), and I really like my WRs. My TEs are kind of bleh, but Howard did score six times last year. Prater kicks bombs and JAX defense should be top-5.

I'd give myself a B+/A-

Yeah, my main issue is that I took a lot of gambles, but I tried to find value by underpaying for guys likely to have bounce-back years like Evans and Cooper. Hell, Luck for seven bucks is a total steal if he's anywhere close to what he used to be.

I'm very happy with how I balanced my picks that can contribute immediately while still grabbing a couple of lottery tickets like Chubb and Michel. And I guess Bryant too. If he signs anywhere, he should immediately become a guy with flex potential even if he is a little washed. I'll take that chance for a buck.

Actually disappointed in my keeper league team. Wish I would have went Gurley/Kamara instead of Kamara/Hopkins. Was hoping to get two RB1's and two WR2's with four top 13 picks...but it just didn't work out that way with so many good RB's going before my first pick. Johnson/Gurley/Barkley/Bell/Brown/Gordon/McCaffrey went 1-7 so I took OBJ hoping that Freeman or Howard at least would drop to 13 but no luck, had to take AJ Green (Fournette, Hunt, Zeke, Mixon keepers).

QB Watson / Goff
RB Kamara / Drake / C Thompson / Ronald Jones
WR ODB / AJ Green / Hopkins / Watkins / Woods / Trequan Smith (keeper potential)
TE Reed / Burton
DST Jags
K Tucker

I was hoping that by keeping a top WR and top RB that I would be able to get first choice at QB and first choice at TE but that didn't work. And then people kept slipping a couple picks before me...grrr.

Quick shoutout to the commissioners I know on this site @Jack Brickman & @Randolphkeys. I know it's a thankless job and a pain in the ass but you guys run great leagues!

S/O to the other commissioners ITT that I don't know about!

Did a 12 team superflex league draft Wednesday.

Start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Q/R/W/T, R/W/T, Def

QB: Cam Newton
QB: Russel Wilson
QB: Mitch Trubisky

RB:Melvin Gordon
RB: Leonard Fournette
RB:Mark Ingram
RB: Chris Thompson
RB: TJ Yeldon

WR: TY Hilton
WR: Allen Robinson
WR: Jamison Crowder
WR: Julian Edelman
WR: John Brown
WR: Keelan Cole
WR: Courtland Sutton

TE: Jordan Reed
TE: Charles Clay

Def: Baltimore

Ok, I am just joining a new 10 team league this year and there are some pretty funky rules, but it sounds like it will be fun.

I need some strategy advice. It is a keeper/auction/draft combo.

The league allows you to keep a guy you drafted last year. If he was in the top 30 last year, he costs you part of your auction money. If he wasn't top 30, then he's free. I inherited David Johnson, so he's free.

Also gone are:

D Cook
D Hopkins
C McCaffrey
E Elliot
L Fournette
M Lynch
J Ajayi
AJ Green
K Hunt

Now...I have $100 to bid on the top 30 guys that weren't already kept.

Antonio BrownWRDoug Baldwin WRRussell Wilson QB
Keenan AllenWRTravis Kelce WRCam Newton QB
Jarvis LandryWRRob Gronkowski WRAlex Smith QB
Larry FitzgeraldWRTodd Gurley II RBTom Brady QB
Michael ThomasWRLe'Veon Bell RBKirk Cousins QB
Julio JonesWRAlvin Kamara RBCarson WentzQB
Tyreek HillWRMelvin Gordon RBPhilip RiversQB
Adam ThielenWRMark Ingram RBMatthew Stafford QB
Marvin Jones Jr. WRLeSean McCoy RBDrew Brees QB
Davante Adams WRCarlos Hyde RBDak Prescott QB

Now the decision comes down to this: Any remaining money a team has after the auction, they can use to bid on their draft position. So, if someone wants Saquon Barkley OBJ or someone else, they need to save their money.

Confusing enough?

How would you approach the auction? Any guys you see that could be potentially had for cheap? Going in cold, I don't know how these auctions go...was told that no year is the same.

Solid team. Receivers are a bit of a gamble, but your QBs and RBs are really good, assuming health.

Is this PPR? Because I like those receivers a bit better in PPR.

Half point. Full point for first downs.

Got the 9th pick in my 12-team, zero PPR money league. Looking forward to seeing which RB drops there because someone took a QB in round one. :chuckle:

10 team, .05 ppr and I picked 9th.

Qb - Cam Newton
Rb - Melvin Gordon
Rb - Leonard Fournette
Wr - Larry Fitzgerald
Wr - Adam Thielen
Te - Trey Burton
Flex - Doug Baldwin
D - Saints
K - Adam Vinatieri

Bench - Dion Lewis
Bench - Isaiah Crowell
Bench - Sony Michel
Bench - Rashaad Penny
Bench - Keelan Cole
Bench - Paul Richardson
Bench - Mike Williams

I was supposed to draft for my sister but couldn’t and most of her team was autodrafted. The only QB on the roster is Matt Stafford, so one of her friends felt bad and offered her Dak Prescott for Robert Woods. The rest of the receivers are Mike Evans, Adam Theilen, Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper. Also it is not a PPR league. I don’t really know much about fantasy, is this a good trade or no?
