He is very skilled, but the move to America (and the NBA) for such a young kid is seems to be too big for him at the moment. He still has a lot of promise, but both him and AB need to put a lot of work in during the offseason if we want to make the leap to contenders in the East next season.

Good thing he's Russian because you know he'll be working his ass off :chuckles:

According to the stats, he seems to be playing very conservatively. He is not taking that many shots, which is rare for someone playing in the D-league. I think it is important to note that he is taking good shots and shooting a high %. He is a smart basketball player who can shoot very well and take advantage of what the defense gives him. Players like that always have a place in the NBA.

We need to find a way to get this kid in the lineup. The middle of a playoff push is never a great place for giving rookies minutes but this guy can help us with his passing.

I've watched a few d league games on youtube and the charge have their guys and they run their offense through them. karasev seems willing to be part of the team, move the ball and shoot if open. if he was more aggressive he might get back to the cavs

I haven't heard anything about him being recalled...pretty sure he's with the Charge again tonight.

Really? I never saw anything about him getting sent back down, must've missed it. Dammit.

Got recalled on the 12th, I think, but then went back down to play for the Charge on the 18th (14 points on 4/9 shooting, 5 boards 4 ast 2 stl) and hasn't been recalled since then.

They play Erie tonight, which is one of the worst teams in the league. Hoping Sergey can have a breakout game that signals to the coaching staff he's ready for NBA minutes.

I'm not too optimistic, knowing Mike Brown, but hopefully Jack is ineffective enough that Sergey can grab a few odd minutes like Bennett was doing earlier this season.

Yeah, hopefully. I'm sure he will want Gee on Derozan as much as possible. I imagine Sergey would struggle against him. Maybe sub Sergey whenever Derozan is sitting? I could live with that. Knowing Mike though, I'm expecting a DNP-CD.

Vasquez, Salmons, and de Colo are all guys who Sergey should have no trouble defending, so I don't really see a legitimate reason to keep him glued to the bench unless Irving, Jack, and Delly are all really dominating.
