Favorite Sub & Sandwich Shops

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sara's in Akron back in the 80's was best, bar none. I'm partial to sandwiches from delicatessens. Hard to get a decent ruben or a pastrami with horseradish from a chain. Or a sandwich with weird ass meat, but damn tasty nonetheless.

Not a fan of loading up on the toppings too much. Sandwich should only have 4-5 ingredients, max. One being the bread, another being the cheese. Meat. Horseradish or mustard. Vinegar & oil dressing or olive tapenade, IF even needed. Nothing else. The hell with the veggies.

Dibellas is amazing. I moved to Chicago a year ago and that is one of the places is miss the most.

I'm going back to Bowling Green in a few weeks and let me tell you, I am going to crush some fucking Spots. Might get a wich, wings, and cheese fries.

Bring me some Myles and some Polleyes, thanks.

Subway is a shitty sub shop that uses cheap, disgusting ingredients and crappy bread. Jimmy Johns is a mediocre sub shop that uses decent to good ingredients and good bread.

Literally every sub place is better than Subway.

No one can argue a topic based on subjective taste better than Jack.

I personally like Subway. More than Penn Station, Jimmy Johns, or Firehouse.

That said, I like W.G. Grinders the best. Mostly a Columbus joint.

What can I say? Some people just have bad taste, and they should be told.

And let's be real...no one has ever accused Subway of having quality ingredients. It's the McDonald's of sub joints. There are better options out there, but you'll be paying more.

Nothing like letting people know just how wrong they are about sandwiches!

There are a lot of good sub chains in Cleveland. I like Penn Station, Jersey Mike's, Dave's Cosmic Subs, Potbelly, Dibella's, and Firehouse. Not a big fan of Subway or Quiznos. Jimmy John's isn't bad but I agree with a lot of what other people said that it's just cold cuts on bread drenched in mayo. If anyone is looking for a great Philly Cheesesteak go to Original Steaks and Hoagies in Twinsburg. The owner is from Philly and used to own a place there for many years. They use 100% ribeye steak that's finely chopped and their bread is really good. I highly recommend them!

Hero House in Wooster is an absolute must. Those sandwiches are to die for.

The correct answer is the day after Thanksgiving in every American home. You take all the leftovers your family has eaten annually for generations and slap bread around it.

There is a chain called Cappriottis that puts thanksgiving on a sub sandwich every day. The sandwich is called The Bobbie and it is amazing.

Thanksgiving leftovers make an excellent omelette too.
