Fix the Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well like I said, he said he would quit if Shapiro and Antonetti were fired, so, fuck him, if we gotta take a step back to take two steps forward, fuck it, do it.

Fire the best manager we've had in decades? That's productive.

So you're going to waste the window we have with this Indians rotation, which is potentially good enough to win a title, because "fuck it"?

Wake the fuck up dude. We don't have a window. That window jammed shut today when Cueto went to the Royals.

The nearest window is 5 or so years away.

You don't fire the front office. Those guys can't be blamed for players under-performing. But we do need new eyes and voices around these guys.

You fire the following: both hitting coaches...I've never seen a team with 2 hitting coaches...too many voices to listen to, plus new eyes can see new issues. Also, it can't be just a coincidence that this many of our players are currently having career worst seasons.

I still have no idea how John Mirabelli still has a job with the Indians. He was our Scouting Director for 2000-07 (don't think we need to bring up how poor some of those drafts were), and is now in the position of "Senior Director, Scouting Operations". We need stronger voices in the front office when it comes to scouting, both pro and amateur players. You also let go of whoever is in charge of Pro Scouting...these are the guys Shapiro and Antonetti base their free agent preferences off of, and the guys who can talk them out of certain players. New voices can be good to hear.

After that, I don't think there is much in the way of the Indians being right back in the thick of things next year. The farm system is being built back up pretty well right now, we are graduating players to the big league club who flash, and another crop is currently knocking on the door. I do think you look to trade Murphy and Raburn for sure, maybe Moss, maybe Santana, maybe Lonnie, and see if anyone gives us a Bartolo Colon-esque return on one of our starters not named Corey Kluber.

Baseball is such a fickle sport. This team could be put together exactly the same as it is currently next year, and the results would be incredibly different, for better or for worse. The Twins are a shinning example of that this year.

You do realize it's unlikely the Royals retain Cueto beyond the next few months, correct? You also realize more than one team can reach the postseason, and that Wild Cards have had great success, right?

Five years from now? Ha.

And you think they pony the money up to keep him? After not doing so for James Shields?

They just sold the rest of whatever bit of farm they had left after the James Shields trade for a few month rental...man, what a window for those Royals...

I have a $50 bet that the Indians will finish better than the Tigers that I placed at the beginning of the year. The Tigers are doing their part with Miggy hurt and Verlander playing like garbage like I expected. Indians just need to finish ahead of Detroit and I'm satisfied.

I mean hey, good for the Royals, they're going for it and I think they should. But Pyro's suggestion that this deal knocks the Indians out for the next FIVE years is silly.

One thing I've noticed, teams who land ace pitchers at the deadline don't go on to win what they make the move for.

If the Royals can win the WS this year, good for them. If not? Small market team with no farm and nothing left to show for. If they don't, and it's a high probability that they don't, re-sign Cueto, they would have effectively traded Wil Myers, Jake Odorizzi, Mike Montgomery, Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb, Cody Reed, and Patrick Leonard for Wade Davis...that's a ROY, young OF with a lot of talent, 2 very good young starting pitchers in the MLB, a LHP reliever/starter who has proven he can handle the pressure of the Postseason at just 22, a 24 year old LHP starter prospect who is currently 9-1 with a 2.67 ERA in AAA, a 22 year old starting pitching prospect with a 2.53 ERA between High A and AA, and a 22 year old 3B/1B fringe prospect....for Wade Davis.

And people want us to follow that?

2016 is going to be a bad, bad year. 2017 should be better and younger with $ money to spend, 2018 will be a just missed it year and making the playoffs in 2019 will go along with participating in the playoffs every 6 years since 2001.

Based on........???? What exactly? I mean shit, we're 7 games under with a very young team as is...not like we're the Phillies or Brewers here. You'd think we were the worst team in baseball with 0 things to look forward to in the future reading this shit...

Based on the trash I've seen this year. One year won't fix this carnage of suck. Bourn and Swish will still be apart of this team as well. Zimmer/Frazier most likely won't help next year. Maybe a Naquin but who knows. This bunch just got swepted by a team that can't even score runs.

We'll sign a David Dellucci wannabe and call it an off season.

Look at the Twins for a prime example for how one group can look shitty one year, then good the next...you can't predict this shit, but if it makes you feel better about this year to trash next year as well based on jack diddly shit, go for it.

I'm done in here again for a while...Indians section has become as unreadable as the team is unwatchable right now.
