Why are people criticizing Lloyd today? His story interlocks in key ways with Wojo. Both have said that the Cavs haven't been given permission to talk to Bynum, but one (Wojo) says that the talks are further along than the other (Lloyd).

In reality, the likely truth lies between The Bullshit Whisperer and Lloyd. Lloyd is ultra quiet and shooting everything down because A) the Cavs can't talk to Bynum, and B) they want to protect their assets. The Bullshit Whisperer saying its close is likely BS, but its certainly not dead either.

Lloyd seems like the only reporter that hasn't lost his mind over a rumor and continues to dig instead of recycling old rumors.....

Knott and The Bullshit Whisperer say its worth the risk. I wouldn't say there's less optimism, if anything, its more deliberate reporting. Source close with Bynum says that Bynum wants to be one of the main options on a team, and feels that with the Nash acquisition he'd be a 3rd cog at best (more likely 4th). Mentioned Grant quote about if you want something good you need to take a risk. Mentions Waiters as a risk that was taken by the Cavs FO, showing the FO would take a risk on acquiring Bynum.

When it is all said and done, Lloyd will not dictate this trade. I'd rather he put out info that doesn't leak anything even if I personally want more appealing news.

I think he hurt it when he went up for that dunk and it looked awkward. First thing I thought was a torn acl. Luckily it wasn't anything serious. I'm ok with him sitting out. The most important thing is to have everyone healthy at the end of summer league

David Griffin was on during the Cavs game, he played "dumb" when asked about the Cavs rumors. Said there are lots of fabrications out there. Shared some awkward laughs when Bynum was brought up by the announcers.

Every time this rumor gets shot down by Lloyd it seems someone brings it back to life. I will say this, I trust Wojo over anyone that covers the cavs. It's not that Lloyd is bad because he has hit on a couple things but I think he may be a tad off on this one. However when he says this thing is not that close I do believe him because it seems that everyone is saying its not that close.

Lloyd flat out says the deal won't happen at all. Wojo says deal can happen if Cavs talk to Bynum and his reps/get extension assurances.

No Lloyd said it could happen but there are a lot of things that the teams involved are not on the same page. For example the cavs don't want to give up Tristan or any other young talent, and there are conflicting reports on whether they would include Andy. He said with how much difference between the teams and on top of that the bad contracts that would be involved make this deal unlikely but things can change quickly. He also said and I quote "It only takes one team to change the parameters of the trade to get this thing going".
