Game 11 | #3 Ohio State vs. #9 Michigan State | November 21st, 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our OLine couldn't block, our QB was innacurate and WRs couldn't get open.

What plays are designed the work like that?

Gonna go back and look at the drive chart, but I'm pretty sure one of those drives in the second half we ran Barrett like 6 straight times and nothing else. I honestly have no idea what is going through Beck and Warriner's heads. It's year 1 after Herman, but man I would not be upset to see Urban let both of them go after the Michigan game and take over the offense for the bowl game.

I feel like this was a game Warinner wanted to prove his offensive line was great and failed completely. If they weren't confident in Barrett's arm in that weather, throw Cardale out there to air it out. He might of been the better option for this game with a big arm and bigger body to run on a stiff DL. I feel like Warinner will be asked to go back to just coaching the OL and Beck will be told he can find a head coaching job at a small school.

Matt Finkes brought up a good point. Urban got tressel balled

They ran the ball twice on 3rd in 9, including late in the game with everything on the line. That's no one's fault but the play callers. Even if everything you said is true, you still don't give it to Braxton on a sweep with 4 minutes left in the game at your own 5 yard line when you need 9 yards. That's awful. Now add to that that it's a tie game, and you're going to be punting into the wind..........it's one of the worst play calls I've ever seen.

No, we gave it to the guy on our roster most likely to break a tackle.

What a joke. IF you can justify that play call in that situation then you can justify all of them, so there is no point in debating this with you.

How many slants did we throw? How many running back screens did we throw? Now I admittedly missed the first two drives, but I can say after those two drives they did neither of those things. There were all types of throws to try in bad weather and we tried about zero of them.

New o coordinator next year or jumping the gun?
Why? the QB flip flopping was on Meyer and the play calling was on Meyer according to Meyer himself

Not it saying it was good. I don't see any playcall that was going to work on 3rd and 9 the way everything was going. Giving it to Braxton around the end has as much chance as anything else.

But Urban isn't calling the plays most of the time. We can all see this when we watch the games, no? From everything I've read, Beck is the guy making the calls right now. At the beginning of the year it was Warriner. This is what you call covering for your coaches. What's he supposed to say? "Yea, Beck sucks at his job and I pretty much hate his play calling."

The only drive that goes for any yardage and a touchdown comes from riding Zeke. The rest of the time, they avoid him like the plague. You can't piss away your season with your best player watching from the sideline or acting as a lead blocker.

And how does Braxton go from a Heisman candidate after week one and progressively deteriorate to the point where he has zero impact on anything at this point?

If reports came out that the coaching staff threw this game for mob money, I'd almost believe it. It was pathetic how little of a fight they pit up.

I always got the impression that Warinner was making play calls at the beginning of the season then it went to Warinner and Beck splitting it. From what Urban was saying Beck seemed to be the guy calling plays during hurry up/pace and Warinner all other times. I never read anything that Beck took over all play calls. If anything this was Warinner trying to prove his OL over their DL.

Well I read that Warriner and Beck started to collab. but that ultimately, when push comes to shove, Beck is the guy who actually calls the play.

Either way, when Urban takes responsibility for the play calling, he's doing that because it's half true (he is the head coach after all, and he has the responsibility to make sure everything works) but it's also him covering for his guys.

And btw, Zeke probably gonna get in trouble with Urban after what he just said. That's......not good.

Zeke is ripping the coaches right now. Rofl. This isn't going to go over well.

EDIT: He also said he was in the hospital earlier in the week with an infection, but made clear he was 100% for this game. Obviously very upset with the play calling and the fact that he didn't get the ball.

His interview there really had the feel of a guy who was both upset but also not worried about too many repercussions. As in he's for sure leaving after this season.

Because he would totally throw his coordinator under the bus in a press conference.

Beat UM next week and get to a decent bowl

Yeah, was pretty surprised to hear some of those comments. He's not happy at all
