    News & Notes:

-Dallas has won their past 9 road games vs Eastern Conference opponents, with their last loss coming 1/20/2011 @ Chicago. Over those 9 games, they have averaged 101.3 points per game, while allowing just 92.3.

-Dallas is 6-2 in the 2nd game of a back to back this season, while the Cavaliers are 1-4.

-The Cavaliers have lost 4 of their past 5 home games overall. They have also lost their past 6 home games vs the West (since their upset of the Lakers last season), losing by an average of 11.6 points per game.

-Entering play Friday vs Indians, since returning to the lineup, Dirk Nowitzki is averaging 9.3 points on 28.2% shooting (11-39; 0-11 on 3's) in 34.7 minutes per game.

*As I submit this thread, Dirk is currently 9-13 shooting (1-3 from 3 pt land) for 22 points.*

    Keys to the Game:

-Aggressive Defense. Dallas averages just 90.3 points on 28.8% 3pt shooting on the road vs 97.5 points on 33.9% 3pt shooting at home. Dallas has broken 100 points just 3 times in 10 road games this season. Conversely, they have allowed 100 points just 1 time on the road.

-Cut off penetration. In their wins this season, Dallas averages 20.6 3pt attempts; 23.1 FT attempts; and 22.4 assists per game. In their losses, they average 23.1 3pt attempts; 21.0 FT attempts; and 19.0 assists per game.

-Rebounding. The Cavaliers are T2nd in the league in opponents' rebounding, giving up just 39.5 per game, are T4th in Rebounding Diff at +2.4, and are 1st in the league in Offensive Rebounding Diff (+2.5). While Dallas isn't a horrible rebounding team, they are in the middle of the pack, and the Cavaliers need to take advantage of this.

    Re: Game 21, Mavs @ Cavs, Saturday, 4 February 2012, 7:30pm EST

Flames out of the scoreboard are so much better.

You need to fix the lineup to this though:

    c-erdan
    pf-andy
    sf-casspi or maybe Jamo
    sg-gee
    pg-irving

According to Tom Reed, Tristan Thompson did not participate in shootaround this morning. So it seems unlikely that he would play tonight.

Gee is starting tonight at SG. Parker, Gibson and TT are out.

Yes. He is the Grady Sizemore of the Cavs. Had so much potential but can't stay healthy. We need to cut Mychel Thompson, bring up Manny and play Eyenga.

Hope we shoot better than 37% this game, and better than 29% in the first half. How about getting a halftime lead actually?

I think I'd rather cut Luke Harangody and retain Mychel Thompson at this point.

The Mavs deserve some pre-game love from Cavs fans tonight. They earned it.

I kind of forgot about that. As long as the love is only pre-game, it would be nice to see...

They'll cheer before the game. I'd be stunned if we cheered for them during the game, I just don't see that happening. But before the game, sure, why not? They deserve it haha.

I wonder if they'll post Dirk up on Jamison...

But the force that Jamison is, I doubt they try it too much. Don't want Dirk to lose confidence against a DPOY candidate...

Hope he's okay. One of the best in the business at not being obnoxious.

According to Tom Reed, Cavs PA announcer Olivier Sedra will not work tonight's game. He left the locker room area on a streatcher. Cavs will provide an update. Reed tweeted this around 7.

    I hope everything is ok.

EDIT - just saw someone beat me to it.
