Game Thread 2018-19 Season Game #26 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Washington Wizards | December 8th, 2018

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Like you guys said, good game and win. Sexton looks good, feel good for him. Nice kid.
And I kind of like Burks, he has a balanced game, rebounds, assists and scoring. He'll get a triple double if he gets the minutes.

Dunno if he was hurt last year, but he would have been so much more useful than Rodney come playoffs

- Collin Sexton is developing nicely. He's learning what he can, and can't, do in the NBA.

- John Wall had 1 point. . . .What?

- The Wizards are a mess. Hard to see how they get out of it, but they have to back up the truck.

- I hope we don't trade TT in a salary dump. Should be able to get something useful for him despite the contract and the fact that a few teams have guys who can shut him down.

I'm a jazz fan and I was so happy to see Burks get away from Snyder. For some reason Snyder had a hatred for Burks that didn't make sense and a love for lesser players. Hood being one of them. He never complained once though and was an incredible teammate. I hope he has a bright future with you guys because he is a very well rounded player that is streaky as a shooter but actually does other things to make up for it unlike Hood who is pretty much worthless when his jumper isn't working.

Was at the game tonight. Lots of fun..we were in row 6 107, so view was great..

A few comments...

Sexton is great until he gets tired..causes a lot of headaches when he attacks, and he plays decent defense. Unlike many here, I think pairing him with Clarkson is a good idea, as they are both quick with good handles in traffic, and if you jam one you free the other..

Osman has good handles, a high bbq, and is one of three guys that make it happen (the others being Sexton and Clarkson) TT cleans up the boards and finishes, and whoever else is on the court is spotting up or otherwise opportunistic.. Nance initiates at times as well but not always...

I like blossingame better than Jones for now. He is a much better defender, and does the little things well. Seems to understand better where he is supposed to be.. However, when Washington went big, they focused on him, and torched him pretty good.

Jalen Jones is a damn good shooter, but was a terrible defender much of the game. He got lost a lot and when he did a wizard was wide open..

The wizards are very talented but dont defend for beans.. when they had Morris, green and oubre on the floor we did not match up well. Morris and green have very smooth three strokes.Beal is lethal. But for some reason they did not come to play..

Alec Burkes has a lot to offer. But he is a sloppy player. He makes no better decisions than Clarkson or Sexton When he is tired..and takes dumb shots.. But he is comfortable taking on a defender...

Cant wait to see delly on the floor.. I think both he and Henson will make the team better.. I am not anxious to trade Tristan. He is the spine of the team right now..

Also, the wizards suck ass.

I'm amazed that it played out the way it did because we were on a significant back-to-back disadvantage - Wiz last game was Wednesday - and despite them starting off as bad as us they are right there for the 8th spot.

They will, in fact, have a tough time getting out of it because Wall/Porter/Beal are fake stars who make much more than their worth, to say nothing of supporting guys like Ian Mahinmi who's making $15MM from his bloated 2016 capsplosion contract, and Junior Rivers at $12.5MM.

The wizards are in my opinion more talented than we are, but they just did not want it like our guys did. Our Defense is scrappy and physical, which is the part of basketball that guys like Wall dont seem to want to do until playoff time. We wanted it and seized our moment when they were not paying attention. They got rankled and tried to fight back (with the help of the refs, I mean neither TT nor Cedi could not buy a call!) but we kept it up enough to keep them from coming back. I think our main guys were pretty gassed in the fourth, especially Sexton and Burks, but we got good energy from Clarkson, Nance and the two newbies down the stretch. Its a win, and I will take it.

But if we trade TT, I think defensively it will be tough for use, because we just dont have the big to play low. When washington went big we struggled physically, and Morris and Green both have legit three point range.

I also think it needs to be said that a lot of our shots fell last night which might not happen again. TT and Burks both have bricky looking strokes, and I think are streaky. Clarkson is also streaky, but I think he sometimes shoots off balance, which is not a skill set he has. Jones has a legit three stroke, but he plays wiggly, so I dont know if he will show up every game. We shall see.

My last post on the game..

The game experience in quicken is fun.. we got sixth row tickets for reasonable and it was good enough for me to see and hear the on court communication, the physicality of the play.

The Q does a great job of entertaining the crowd. There is always something going on and it's a fun atmosphere through and through.

People are freindly, smiling having a good time. Vendors are serving with a smile.. Hell the cops were dancing to the music..

In pregame we were sitting next to a mom and her 6 year old kid. We were early and the Aisle was clear. A cop came down and walked over to the kid. Asked him if he was a cavs fan, and gave him a high five..

It was pretty great, and a welcome evening for my wife and I after a hard summer. If you can do it even once a season, it's worth the ticket!
