Game Thread 2018-19 Season Game #31 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers | December 18th, 2018

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
BITCHES AINT SHIT BUT HOES AND TRICKS!!!!

YEEEE HAAAAW!!!

Nance's presence didn't seem to bother the other 3 starters. Every starter managed to record an assist tonight except for Sexton.

He's a kid, man. He needs improvement. Big deal. He shot it a lot tonight.

Nance threw Olidipo out of the way (and to the floor) before the tap-in. Nice. They have themselves to blame, though, for letting us hang around.

He freaking mugged Oladipo. Hilarious!

add nance to the list of people who are trying to win and therefore must be benched in crunch time

For me it's not a game by game thing but just how you want to develop Sexton. Unless the plan is to make Sexton an off-ball player that happens to play PG like George Hill, he needs the ball in his hands if we want Sexton to improve his vision.

There are a ton possessions that Sexton doesn't even touch the ball. I just don't see a high ceiling for this team if Sexton doesn't develop his vision. If Nance develops into a point forward with a 3pt shot, that would be great for our rebuild but it shouldn't come at the cost of developing Sexton into a well rounded PG.

Rookie or not, a point guard who can't pass is a pretty big deal, actually.

Exactly but how do you develop that passing ability for Sexton if he is not getting the ball? Watch closely and you can tell before a play starts if Sexton is going to touch the ball. He does something very similar to LeBron, he puts his hands on his hips and just watches.

While I tolerate the tank as a necessary evil, I prefer moments like tonight. Young players don't really develop into good players if they go through the motions for five months. Sexton needs a few games like this one in order to identify as a Cavalier, keep grinding, keep improving.

The coaching staff is using Sexton as a shooting guard at this stage. If they truly feel he can't run the point, they need to lock him in the video room with a box of James Harden tapes. He needs to see what a free throw looks like.

It doesn't even seem like the coaching staff wants to develop his playmaking skills. They rarely call for him to run a play. Everything they call for him is pick and roll/pop. Draw up some plays and get him to run them.
