Games you played as a kid that you wish you could play again

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gouri reminding me of my love for the Wing Commander games. Damn you! :chuckles:

I don't get the "wish you could play again" part of this topic, though. Pretty much any game you want to play from when you were a kid you can probably download and play with an emulator.

Anyway, I'll throw out The Curse of Monkey Island.

Great animation, perfect voice acting, hilarious script, and very challenging. It's an old-school adventure game, so most of the puzzles use adventure game logic which, if you're familiar with the term, has very little to do with actual logic. I highly recommend anyone who likes point and click adventure games give the Monkey Island series a try, though. Awesome games.

This was an awesome game! So much fun. This was one of the last, truly great adventure games of that era.

I dont wanna know how many hundreds of hours i put in to pokemon red/blue/yellow..good lord. i could go back and play through those any day of the week but the new ones cant hold my interest any more after a single play through, too much of the same "level up, evolve, beat gym leaders, you win"

I actually gave them a spin on the emulator the other day. Brilliant games, every child's addiction. The new ones aren't actually half bad. Graphically and animation-wise, it's everything I always dreamt the games would become as a kid. Now I live vicariously through younger siblings whenever I want to turn it on and give it a go. And I actually enjoy not knowing any of the new Pokemon - it kind of makes it more immerse to the point where you really have to learn as you go - you don't have that upper hand anymore of knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each Pokemon.

RollerCoaster Tycoon for PC and all of it's iterations are/were awesome.

Being a born creative soul, I still play this with younger siblings to this day. We mess around with 3D meshes in SketchUp and characters now and import them into the game to make it that much more unique and realistic. So for example, we have an entire city of Bedrock from The Flintstones built into the game with a custom Flintstones car ride and character objects in the city. Did this with The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, The Smurfs etc. etc. Lots of fun if you want to give the creative mind a work out.

Trying to think of the first game I played nonstop on a console... has to be Animal Crossing for the GameCube. Would play it every single day.

yeah man, keeping them a mystery helps a lot. I have B, B2 and X..i need to get back to playing X...its actually a pretty fresh experience as far as pokemon goes

I wasn't a kid (We only had board games when I was kid), but my favorite PC game of all time is probably Impossible Creatures. I still can't believe they never made an IC2. I still look for something similar but never seen anything yet...

Civilization II. Although that isn't entirely true- I am glad I can't go back and play it because I waised way too much flippin time playing that game back then to begin with.

Perfect Dark > Goldeneye

Perfect Dark was a dressed up GoldenEye. It should have been 'better', it came out afterwards. It was Goldeneye though that began the multiplayer 1st person shooter genre.

I remember when I was little I thought it was the shit that you could shoot through walls in Perfect Dark.

Don't know if it was mentioned but Super Smash Bro's. Playing Resident Evil in my basement in the dark and always feel like there is something behind me.

And I don't think it has been mentioned but Virtual Boy - Tennis. That shit was amazing.

I'm pretty sure GoldenEye didn't invent the genre, it was just the first uber-popular game in it.

It's similar to how people always credit Halo with pioneering dual-analog shooter controls. There were several games (probably more) that came out before Halo (including TimeSplitters) using that controller scheme. Halo was just the most popular among them and, thus, ended up receiving the credit.

How could I forget Final Fantasy tactics??? All those hours grinding to stack my team with dual wielding Knights :chuckles:

Well I still play some old games I played as a kid.

But one I can't anymore, my first online MP shooter
