Do Not Sell My Personal Information
GOG (Good Old Games) recently changed their site up.

That's a great place for discounted games that are DRM free. There's new deals every week.

Oh my... I just realized I sound like an advertisement...

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

how is it?

Got it on Tuesday but went out Tuesday night for a fall beer tap takeover. When I got home I was too drunk to figure out how to get the damn thing to work. Turns out that it helps when you download the software. :chuckle:

I got to spend a little time with it Wednesday and it was really a cool experience. You definitely have to get your "VR legs," as they say. I felt myself getting a bit sick to my stomach after about ten to fifteen minutes of playing Team Fortress 2, which is the only game I've tried so far. I'm still trying to get the settings exactly right. As it stands, things tend to be a bit blurry, which attributes to the feeling of sickness. What I didn't realize is that putting these goggles on really transports you into the world of the game you're playing. It looks legitimately 3D, like you could reach out and touch it. It's a very unique sensation that can't be replicated via screenshots.

I had a fantasy draft last night and one of my buddies is in town from Atlanta today/tonight, so I probably won't get back to playing with the Rift until Sunday. I'll post more comments once I download some new stuff that can use it (there are dozens of user-made games/demos on the Rift website) and try that out.

i really want a new game to get in to, but i have no idea what is good/nothing looks all that great to me :/

They did a good job with max Payne 3. The game ran pretty well and I don't remember coming across any bugs.

Lately I've been into playing platformers (love them). Got to the last boss of the AVGN game and... It's just brutal. I have no words.
I don't remember the last platformer where I gave up.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut is only $4.99 on steam, 91/00 meta score.

I picked it up, i need a new/fresh style game to play

Human Revolution was a pretty solid game. The boss fights are absolute garbage, and the ending leaves quite a bit to be desired (as do the endings of most games that sell you on the illusion that your choices matter only for you to pick A, B, or C at the end), but the rest of the game is quite fun. The level design is spectacular in that it gives you multiple ways to get through each level depending on how you want to play. It's not quite as open-ended (gameplay-wise) as the original Deus Ex, but it's still a lot of fun. I typically go for stealth in games like Human Revolution, and the stealth is very satisfying.

hella games on sale on steam, just got Just Cause 1, 2 and DLC for $3.79... all the batman and lego games are on sale too

Yeah. I thought Lego Marvel was amazing, probably the best Lego game out there.

I would also recommend Bastion. Great game all-around! Gameplay, graphics, story, soundtrack, characters, narration - everything's really neat.

And, for those who never played F.E.A.R, there's a bundle with the whole collection for around 8 dollars. http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/fear-bundle/

The original F.E.A.R is a really good FPS and a scary one at that. The sequels were more action oriented, but are good games nonetheless.

you guys play the new Gauntlet yet? it sounds fun as hell

Haha I used to play it competitively back in college when I had tons of free time and not enough money to go out every night. Shit added up. :chuckles:

What name did you use when you played competitively? I used to, too, but that was eons ago. :p
