Getting Rid of Cable- What am I missing?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just a heads up, but ALL Antenas I have tried at multiple locations suck so much...for example, CBS and Fox were boarder line impossible to get reception...and when the reception came through, it was very unstable.

So I would buy one and test it out before u make all these changes.

Just depends on how far away you are from the towers. Find that out here: https://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29
After running your address, it will say below if the good signals in your area or VHF or UHF (most likely both) You may need to get two separate antennas. One that's great for VHF and one that's great for UHF and then get a UHF/VHF combiner. Also, put the antenna as high as possible. Outside is even better.

you may just need an amped antenna. Which I dont understand. cause I was able to get better range from a split cable cord than a dollar general bunny ear. I found one of those amped ones at the thrift store for 15 bucks rated for 45 miles. worked great

So all you'd need to do is buy that, plug it into the TV/coax in the wall, and good to go?

I've actually never used an antenna so no idea how they work or are setup.

I do plan on doing all this fairly soon though.
they have a cable that attached to the coaxial peg on the Tx/ Box. an outdoor antenna would be connected like a dish if your running it through the whole house.
If your TV doesnt have a digital tuner though youll need to get one.
Once connected you can goto your tv menu and scan for channels .

I've been using kodi for a while now.

This post made me feel so old. Never used an antenna?

Fire TV Stick w/ Kodi and the genesis addon (plus some random others) + roof mounted antenna is probably the cheapest way to effectively stop paying for TV service without missing out on anything. With the Kodi setup you don't even need Netflix or any service like it as it can all be found through Kodi addons. If you can't do a roof mount for whatever reason, Mohu Leaf antennas do a good job if you can mount it in a window facing the right direction. I had one for awhile and it worked great, but I lived in Akron at the time and was near enough to the TV stations to pick the signals up. YMMV depending where you live. Roof mounted antenna is definitely better if its an option.
