Grantland on the Cavs (2 new pieces on K-Love)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
bad decision to adapt to ray allen's body when your game is nothing like ray allen's.

I'm starting to really dislike this entire board at the moment.

Irrationality is at a 10. People are tripping over themselves to hit the panic button. Pegging LeBron as past his prime?! He's 29!!! Best player in the world!!!

You're all going to miss the cue to celebrate when this team finally hits its stride.

I feel like I'm in the minority of the fans here who actually remember the harsh reality that was forecast several weeks ago - this team would start slow, finish strong.

Marathon, people. Marathon.
Explain how it is irrational to question his physical abilities given the way he's played.

In my 4 years here, I've never felt so discontent with this board.

I usually come here for optimism, and for some laughs and smiles...this board has brought NONE of that for the past month..

You'd make a better case arguing after a game where he didn't score 31 points.

That's silly logic. Assuming that you've been watching these games from start to finish and used to watch a vast majority of LeBron's games during his first stint you would be able to notice some obvious differences in his game thus far. Young LeBron has no problem blowing past Dunleavey, Hayward or that scrub from New York for buckets. Young LeBron has no problem finishing at the rim instead of all these mediocre attempts around the basket. Young LeBron probably doesn't even get rejected around the rim by Dwight Howard in crunch time without drawing a foul let alone Gordon Hayward. You're lying to yourself if you have not noticed any differences in his game. Whether or not those differences will continue for the long haul is yet to been seen.

What if LBJ only came back because he is dying and wanted to make things right before passing on? Lou Gehrig declined the same way.

Personally, I am more concerned with the way Lebron is playing selfishly than his physicality, but he did not score 31 on athleticism. I think his back is not right, and he has said so, even saying he was about 85%. I'd say that is about accurate. I just don't think he has such a hard time going through Hayward when he is at his best. Lebron at 85% is pretty good.

I am not one who is panicking because the team sucks, I am one who is not liking the effort or intensity of the players on the court. I am not liking how they have seemingly abandoned the offense that made them look so potent in preseason.

Lebron doesn't look like the same guy to me, but I am pretty sure it is his back. Having back pain can really make a good player look like crud and a shell of himself. Remember Z in 2009 against Howard? Back. Andy in 2010 against the Celtics was not himself. Back.

It's not like someone's legs where it is obvious they are favoring a knee or something. Back pain makes you look old and nonathletic.

Board sucks right now for sure.

Yeah, I'm worried about his elevation and body control in finishing near the hoop. FG percentage in the paint has always been off the chart for him, now he's not looking good in there.

Also whether he is now too light to defend interior players (PFs) like he used to be able to.

Can't suspend reality just to make people feel good. He's not the same Lebron...as of right now.

Unless LJ is willing to sacrifice some things right now to keep his body in better shape for later in his career. If we were in the playoffs and seeing this I would be concerned, 2 weeks into the season, no.

It all makes sense now. The HGH use gave him symptoms characteristic of acromegaly. God bless his soul.

he'd be sacrificing a lot of his game and leaving himself with a much smaller amount of tools in the box. seems like he's expediting that process rather than letting it happen anturally over tie.
