Great replacement for NBA League Pass

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can confirm what others have said, ballstreams is horrible.

Got it to watch the games this season and it was atrocious. Was hoping to avoid the insane league pass cost.

I have it and love it. There are sometimes slight pauses in the stream, but I've found that if I watch using VLC that I can completely avoid those issues by increasing the buffering delay. Also, the staff at ballstreams actually will respond to you, so if you go into a chat with them, they'll try to fix the stream for you. Also, all the streams are 720p, and all are around 3-5s delay.

I dunno, for me the service is great, especially for the cost. LeaguePass Broadband is garbage, so it's hard to say that it's better in anyway whatsoever. And don't they only show 1 HD stream and the rest are SD?

i have ballstreams and it works just fine in hd. havnt had a problem yet even works on my cell phone with the free bsplayer. i do have fast internet tho 30mbs.

Still got my real league pass and I'm not using the online part. I'll give somebody an good deal if they are interested.

Does someone of you still have open invites? I would like to buy it before our win against the 76er's!

Anybody have BallStreams on Roku? So we have a Roku and I had no idea that BallStreams was an app that was available for it. I was planning to buy the one day to see if it worked well on there, and if it did, I would extend it to a 3 month subscription to finish out the regular season. That was the plan anyway, until I saw registration was closed to the public and I need an invite. How does that work? Could someone help me out with that?

Also curious if it plays games that are nationally televised?

So is there a consensus on this? How's it looking for the upcoming season?

Ballstreams on Roku is okay. It can get choppy. I'd much prefer watching via VLC, XBMC if you can... It's definitely worth it. Watching over Plex is also possible but it fucking sucks.

The problem is that for popular games during the season (not playoffs), there can be a strain on the servers and quality of service goes down. So I play through VLC (they have a VLC player as well) and turn my buffering time up to 60 seconds. This means I'm 1 minute behind everyone else (I could give two shits), but it plays flawlessly and in HD quality.

As RonG said, invites are closed at the moment. If the reopen and if you need a referral, holla.. But registration will surely open before next season starts, so your best off waiting I think.

Registration is closed, but a few weeks ago I entered the waiting list and received an invite a couple of days later.

FYI, the invitation email went into my spam folder and expired before I found it. Registered again and didn't have a problem.

I never went ahead with the Premium upgrade, however. Kind of waffling over whether or not to use my credit card or buy a visa gift card. Any opinions?

Is the issue with Plex just the interface or are there actual buffering/latency problems? That's what I'd had in mind to use, since PS4 is the only peripheral connected to my TV.

It's actually both! Plex on a Smart TV seems to have a very narrow amount of buffer RAM available to it, so you can get some very choppy playback. On the PS4, I have no idea how it would perform. But Plex on my PC still has a problem on default settings. Sometimes it works, but it's not ideal.

Now, as far as latency, that's can sometimes be a significant problem during the season. I had a phenomenal connection in Hawaii and it was choppy as hell sometimes.

With all that said, BallStreams is shitting on League Pass.. Period...
