Greatest Sports Moment You've Ever Seen Live

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll always remember watching this one live.

OK. So it was Gymnastics. But I don't think I've seen anything like this before or since.

That Nascar race was epic

My seats were a little to the side of the start/finish line. I was watching them go by, and I honestly thought Kurt Busch won from my angle. It was a crazy finish. I went to Darlington every year, and never saw another race even close to that one.

So I thought this was for sports moments we saw in person, which is what my first two videos consisted of.

This was by far my favorite sports moment that I saw live on TV:

^ Definitely my best moment not actually being there.

For an actual live event, I guess it's a sad one, the Elway Drive. Never experienced such a change in the crowd within a just a few minutes. From sad to exuberant to downright major dissapointment.

This was without question, the greatest single sporting event of my personal lifetime... it's not even close, actually. Wasn't just the match and the result..but.. it was also symbolic of exactly what was happening politically in the world, and in terms of world power after decades of a prolonged cold war. Even from an Olympic standpoint, it was retribution for how the USSR had basically stolen the gold medal from the USA in basketball in the past decade.

What few realized at the time, and many still today is ...we didn't actually view this hockey match live on television. The actual game had ended over an hour before it started being shown on television in America. The only people that saw it live were those in Canada via CHCH-TV 11 out of Toronto. But, the good thing was, we didn't know that fact and didn't know the result until it happened via tape delay. Another fact ...we didn't win the gold that night. It just insured us playing in the championship game vs. ...I believe Finland...possibly Sweden.

Went to this game for my birthday. Loudest I've ever heard a building get in my life.

Another huge one: Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson. Many people don't think about how dominate Tyson was up till that point. He was on track to be the greatest heavyweight fighter ever, and it died that day.

My greatest moment will be the last Indian's game at municipal stadium. My mom grew up in Erie, PA and my grandpa, who's name was Bernie, was a huge Indian's fan. Because of this, my mom, my uncle, and my aunt are all huge Indian's fans. My grandpa died a few years before the Indian's left muni stadium. We all had tickets to that last game. The whole place was packed. The game was sold out. My mom, my uncle, my aunt, and I were sitting in our seats when my uncle looked over and noticed an empty seat next to my mom that remained empty the entire game. My uncle said, "Look, someone left us a seat for Bernie". The Indians went on to lose that game, I believe. But it didn't matter. That was my greatest sports moment ever.

I'd have to go with my high school Cleveland Benedictine winning back to back state championships. That was the only taste of a championship that I have had in my day.

It gave me an impression of how crazy people go when you finally win a championship. Can't even imagine Cleveland's reaction.

Aside from that, I watched Tiger Woods sink that insane miracle putt that won him the masters. That was pretty cool, and aside from that I have to slip one more memory in there.

LeBron James game 5, palace of Auburn Hills. Jordanesque, I have never seen a player score so many baskets consecutively. I also remember some spectacular plays, like the alley oop from Daniel Gibson in 07 vs the Wizards. Gibson threw the lob so high that even on television nobody thought the pass was catchable, but low and behold LBJ went up and got it and crushed. Totally caught us by surprise.

I will say, Kyrie Irving had me going ape shit when he stole that game from the Thunder the other night. After the 3 in Westbrook's face, Irving dances into the lane and softly kisses it off the glass to seal the victory. Hadn't gone crazy over a Cavaliers game like that in some time now.

Oh one last memory. Baron Davis leads the Cavaliers to victory over the Miami Heat. Was so proud of the Cavaliers... That was our championship, and we didn't even have Irving or Thompson yet. Baron Davis proved once again that if he's focused, he was one of the best basketball talents in the league. When we beat LeBron in the Q I celebrated. You best believe Frank took celebratory bong hit so large it woulda made Tommy Chong cringe.

I was there, so I win
ESPN just had a top 10 of best #1 vs #2 matchups in all of sports since 2000.

This game ranked 5th. I'll take it. :D

I'll always remember watching this one live.

Ok, I have to admit something. I cried when I watched this yesterday. As in literally started crying. It had been years.

Felt kinda good. Awesome, awesome moment.

Easily the best moment I've seen live

Not a huge soccer fan, but this was pretty awesome. In terms of a single moment, it's definitely up there.
