Greg Popovich Appreciation Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
im not sure what the issue is here. NBA teams sit players all the time. typically later in the season prepping for playoffs but its not like the spurs are throwing games. popovich rested his starters frequently last year and the year before. if stern is bent out of shape the sole reason was that it was a tv game against miami.

Only reason is because it is against the money making giant Miami Heat on TNT.

It's not like a basic factory operation, where in this scenario it looks as if the players (workers) are on strike. No, they (didn't play) just called off for one single day. Get over it.

People should have sanctions the next time Stern can't attend something, or if he isn't at an NBA game Everynight. I would expect him to represent his product every night in diff arenas throughout the league. Why does he not show up to Cavs regular season games? If I am wrong, I am not sure, and sorry if he does attend an NBA game every night.

Stern is awesome...in a Vince McMahon sort of way. I'm going to miss the entertainment value when he's gone.
not really a great comparison when one is real and the other is staged....

Stern fined the Spurs $250,000...idiot.

Is it just for sending the players home? What're the chances he would've kept them there but in suits, or even if he dressed them but pulled a DNP-CD?

Edit: Amick retweeting the reason...if you can call it one.

@sam_amick: RT @JeffZillgitt: According to NBA, Spurs were in violation of league policy "against resting players in a manner contrary to the best interests of the NBA."

You're joking right?

So let me get this straight a complete and utter game breaker like flopping, which is an epidemic in sports gets you a warning, but resting players gets you a fine... It should easily be the other way around. $250,000 per flop would put a stop to it.

Oh well next time all he has to say is he is keeping the players out because of bruises.

Done with this league. This time I mean it. End of this season, I'm done. Throwing all NBA-related gear in the firepit and WHOOSH.

While you're at it throw your keyboard in the fire pit too.

Stern is soooooo awful. Amazing how far he has fallen.

the scheduling is suspect anyway. Whey in a 82 game season are the heat off for 5 days while the spurs go on a 5 game roady end there last game is against the team who is fully rested?

Just quit now if that's how you really feel. If you aren't willing to quit now, you'll never do it.

That is the whole point.

Well I have threads I have to do. After that though, just here for Indians and Browns.
