gun control

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Personal attacks. Very fucking impressive. If you can't say something nice...

BTW - This is "off topic", not EAYOR. Regular RCF rules apply in this thread.

Don't get mad. Take a look at how you talk to people. Not always the nicest. In fact I'd be inclined to think you were personally attacking gun owners with your comment.

Saying someone "sometimes comes off like a snob" is just about the tamest shit ever.

I'm not throwing my hat in the ring here as I have no desire to argue about this right now. I was just wondering, why are all of your posts so hostile? Can't you present your views without getting so upset?

The snob thing should be no surprise, aren't you admittedly pompous?

I am steering it on topic, or at least attempting to. Again, this isnn't EAYOR. You might want to consider the percentage of your posts in this thread on gun control in comparison to personal attacks. Its not looking good. I don't agree with much shukle had to say, but I know off topic has rules. Once you went after me with the same lack of content, it was time to say something.

You've kinda sat back and then dropped little ambiguous comments here and there so I have no idea what your stance is. Where do you stand on gun control? Maybe that will clarify some of your comments. Throw your hat in the ring.

If you want to threaten to ban me feel free. I have donated plenty to this place. Contributed to many other topics in the past. This one happens to be close to the heart and something guaranteed by my birth in this country.

If people were talking about first amendment restrictions because the founding fathers could have never imagined free speech outside of local pubs, gatherings, and hand operated printing presses, you'd better believe I'd fighting that as well.

So get it back on topic and make your thoughts known. But don't make threats. If you feel you need to ban me do it.

I'm admittedly pompous but on topic. Have been since 2005. So back to the topic, any thoughts on the 23 executive orders or intentions of the three suggested changes to gun laws in Congress?

BTW notorious, I have several posts with my opinion. I also do my role as a mod to steer off topic fights back on course. Feel free to go back and read the thread.

Are you afraid to make your thoughts known?

My thoughts are, with the current surplus of money in this country why not expand the government and lock up more law abiding citizens because of what they bought legally. Obviously money is no issue in this government.

I'm sure the jobs lost by some in the gun industry can be swapped with high paying tech jobs in California or green energy jobs elsewhere.

His thoughts are in this thread. His idea of taxing multi gun households and large amounts of ammunition was pretty good.

Yeah just read it. It's unconstitutional though. Shall not be infringed is kinda hard to misinterpret.

How do you feel about taxes on multi children households? Tax them harder and harder to kill the babies for money mentality? What about taxing multiple violent video game households? What about multiple soda and fast food per day eaters. Kill em just like we supposedly killed the tobacco industry. Why are cigarettes even legal? They actually do effect everyone and harm everyone, those who smoke them and those around them.

If you guys want the government deciding everything for you that's fine. Just don't complain when they decide something you don't like is a common nuisance.

Sometimes, we agree Notorious... The government should leave us stop trying to cut our freedom.

I don't believe in taxing because it just means the riches can afford it, while the poors can't. It would reduce the general amount of weapons in the country, but doesn't really change anything, except more money for the government... I mean, it just seems so logical to me that : a person with a gun is more likely to kill than one person without a gun, no? It's just... The sole purpose of a gun is to kill (not necessarily a human being, but still). Saying "a gun saved a life" doesn't sound absurd to you? I understand it can theorically happen, but I'd like to see statitistics that tell me guns save more life than they kill. If you really want these shootings to stop, taxing isn't a solution.

You forgot the part in the second amendment about "well-regulated militia.". There are restrictions to gun purchases and ownership on the books right now because of the fuzzy nature of the 2nd amendments wording. What I had suggested is taxation instead of banning ownership.

Taxing multi-gun households? Good lord. I hope that is sarcasm.

I agree with that as well. But there are bad people in this world who kill people with a gun or without. People deserve the right to protect themselves. There is also sporting purposes to them. Is a golf club or a baseball bat just a murder weapon because they can be used as one? Motorcycles are suicide machines. Should we ban them? What about cars? Biggest murderers on the planet.

The part about the rich was my point in a thread earlier. Even if everyone gives up their guns here the rich and powerful will still have armed details. This is a war on the poor and middle class. I believe they are getting ready to default on our debt sometime in a few years and want as many of the guns for order and control when they do. I believe Europe and Australia may be in the same boat.

When the Free Shit Army is told no more food stamps or welfare, look out!!

Which allows only those with money to buy. The intent of the founders was well discussed in many other articles from the time. The reason we have restrictions is the same reason unlawful search and seizures are no longer honored as a right. Because people think any law passed trumps everything else. They are ignorant to the constitution and our history. The patriot act is a shining example of trampling our rights.

Obamacare is unconstitutional because the government cannot tell you what to buy.

Banning magazines in New York is unconstitutional because of ex post facto laws.

Imagine where the New York law leaves things. Oh your house was made with the wrong kind of brick. It was legal when you bought it, but its not anymore and we need you to tear it down. No we don't have to compensate you for it.

And with the way these jokers are bought and paid for, you want to give them more power over your life.

It's incomprehensible!
