Plain Dealer's New Cavs Beat Reporter: Chris Haynes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Personally, I think it's quite appropriate that a primary beat writer for the Browns shares her name with a women's cosmetics company. After all, the job of both Mary Kays is to make something ugly look half-way presentable.

Job description: Putting lipstick on a pigskin

Hate to say this but the rumor is MSB will be the primary beat reporter and Jodie Valade will be #2.

That is absurdly depressing. WTF is the PD thinking exactly? Besides Terry Pluto, that sports staff has really taken a turn for the worse these last few years.

Going back to the Roger Brown days, eh PD?

Most of the posters on this site could do a better job than MSB.

What does Pluto give you? In my mind he gives nothing but team propaganda. He never gives you anything you haven't heard before. At least Hal used to give out scoops like who the sleeper linebacker is this year and why we are counting Lawyer Tillman this year or how the burner himself willis adams cut his fingers on the laces of the football and never amounted to anything.

I guess its back to following Jason LLoyd for news

Windhorst is still more plugged in to the Cavs organization than any of the PD writers.

Hal Lebovitz was a once in a lif type of sports journalist. MOF, probably never be another one like him again. But, Pluto isn't all about team propaganda. He's written some nice books, and his insight into the Browns when they left was very enlightening during a time when few had real answers to a plethora of questions in a beleaguered fanbase. He's also written numerous articles detailing the ailments of all 3 major franchises here over the years. Not sure where the team propaganda comment is coming from.

Bump this thread because I can't find the other one... MSB retired and Jodie Valade is no longer on the beat. The PD apparently hired this guy. Chris Haynes

Anyone familiar with Haynes? Twitter seems to be high on the guy.
