Here's a fun question to be discussed about 2014. I'd love YOUR take

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think you guys are severely underestimating the new CBA. And Dion. And Tristan.

I would bet money 2014 looks like
Kyrie
Dion
2013 pick (still under rookie contract) / mid tier free agent
Tristan Thompson
2013pick(still under rookie contract)/ mid tier free agent

Role players that have nothing to do with the players we have now. Management is not going to waste cap space now on speights and ellington.. They lock down the big three, and whether you like it or not the big three are poised to be kyrie dion and tristan. There's not enough money to buy lebron unless you let one or more of those go.

I'll go further with predictions. Cavs make the playoffs next year. Book it. Kyrie in his third year, tristan going 15 12 for a full season, dion getting 2 shots off his fgm and 4 extra free throws, and the "rebuilding through draft" phase will be over so management will sign legitimate free agent role players intending to win.

After the 'who's your father' chants I don't think LeBron will be returning. I think the target is Bosh and Granger in 2014. Hopefully our top pick this year works out cause it will likely be our last. I'm hoping for either shabazz or noel. Think shabazz has the most offensive potential while nerlens looks like an all defensive teamer.

Kyrie
Shabazz
Granger (free agent)
Bosh
Noel

Reserves:

Dion Waiters
Thompson
Gee
Ellington

and a couple more defensive role players to round out the bench at center and point guard.

Kyrie/Mark Gayetsky/Selby
MacLemore/Waiters
LeBron/Gee
TT/Spieghts
Cousins/Zeller

Here's what I got

Kyrie/Beaubois
Dion/Ellington
Shabazz/Gee
Tristan/Speights
Love/Zeller

Kyrie/Mark Gayetsky/Selby
MacLemore/Waiters
LeBron/Gee
TT/Spieghts
Cousins/Zeller

His rap career just took off.. do you really expect him to come play for the Cavs? Far fetched :chuckles:

This is a team about equal to the current Brooklyn Nets.

Pass.

Couldn't disagree with this more. Regardless of the development of the other players you are looking at at least 2 of the top 10 players in the NBA by that point. The Nets don't have a single top 10 player.

How the hell do you get both with one top 5 pick?

Couldn't agree more. This appears to be Grants plan all along. They want another lottery pick and financial flexibility, especially when the young core is ready to get to the playoffs.

While #6 is a FA in 2014, Grant is positioning himself to add talent around the young core whether its #6 or not.

That team is WAY better than the Brooklyn Nets. That team instantly becomes the best team in the NBA. Where around the league do you see two of the best 5 NBA players by 2014 (at PG and SF, nonetheless) A budding slashing SG with Wade-like moves, a nicely-transitioned PF who has an unspeakable motor and would probably bulk up even more, and a defensive stopping C in Noel. Also, who on the Nets bench is so great, also?

Um...Oklahoma City?
