If bought-out, Cavs option for McGrady

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You're making it sound like adding "over the hill" (a guy who is 3 years younger than the "stud" everybody is psyched about in Jamison) would hurt our chances. It wouldnt even be worth a shot? Come on.

Ok at some point someone needs to point to the elephant in the room. Yes, Jamison is 3 years older than McGrady but he is A) healthy and B) productive.

Age shouldn't be used as a comparison between players when there is clearly so many difference between them. McGrady's body is completely broken down. As a result, his numbers are horrific. Even when he was a superstar, he never led his team to any kind of noteworthy success. Jamison is still productive, putting up good numbers, and healthy. But alas it is bedtime.

We will see. Doubt we get him anyways.

Wow interesting. Kinda on the same
boat as a lot if we can get Z back too then why not, just to see that starting lineup on the court would be pretty crazy.

And how would you feel to be the team to get him
outta the first round, decent atleast.

Hey, as long as the Lakers don't get him!

Seriously though, I can't wait to see what Windy says about our chances at signing him, though ...

You are saying Anthony Parker is more skilled than T-mac right now?

I think it is reasonable to give him a shot for the vet minimum. At best he is a solid player that adds some depth, at worst he does nothing for us. To be honest, I doubt he can get into a flow by playoffs time after having barely played basketball in the last two years, but I could understand taking the risk for the veterans minimum.

You are so right. You can't compare their ages because if you had to pick the young healthy one, you would pick Jamison. You would pick him as the consistent one too.

I read an article last year comparing Jamison and Vince. They were teammates North Carolina, and it argued that Antawn has been the real superstar since then. Vince got all the credit. He has been overlooked for a long time. If he puts up similar numbers next year, he will likely be an allstar.

Look at Jamison's career. Steady. And he had one great season off the bench where he didn't need to take an inordinate amount of shots.

For most of his career, McGrady has been the number one scoring option; he's always needed the ball to be effective. He's never once proven that he can be a role player, and is therefore not worth the risk for a team on pace to run up the best record in the NBA.

Lots of ex-superstar love going on here.

Jamison no longer has shoulder issues?

Nothing compared to T-Mac, but still...not like Jamison is some spring chicken

You can't not knock Amar'e for his surgeries and then tear apart T-mac for his surgery. He's only 3.5 years older than Amar'e. His micro-fracture surgery was almost exacty 1 year ago on February 24th, 2009.

And you can't say "his stats are horrible".....are u talking about the 6 games he's played this year for 7.7 minutes per game?? Even if you go back to 2008-2009, he still averaged 15 pts, 4.5 rebs, 5 asts, 1.2 stls in 34 mpg in 35 games. 2007-2008?? - 21.5 pts, 5 rebs, 6 asts, 1 stl in 37 mpg in 67 games.

Let the Lakers have him. With him and Kobe taking all of the shots there will not be any team chemistry (like we are seeing with Kobe on the bench - haha).

From a Rockets message board:
... league sources told FOX 26 this trade could grow to a much larger deal that could move McGrady to the New York Knicks as part of a three-team trade.

If that is the case Dorsey would be moved to the Knicks and the Rockets would get forward Jordan Hill from New York.

Ahhhh fuck.

Nope. It's healed. Required no surgery. And he's bounced right back.

If anything, he was playing too many minutes for a rudderless team. Those minutes will be scaled back with the Cavs. Not worried at all.
