Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm going to flip my shit if Griffin chose a ridiculous overpay of TT over Shump.

Please don't lose Shump. And dear God, we especially can't let Shump AND JR go.

Though I think at least one of them will stay. Hopefully it's both, but for some reason I see one of them leaving for more money.

If I had to pick one or the other, I'd pack JR's bags for him.

I'm going to be somewhat surprised if either or both of them walk. I think the market for JR is going to be not as good as he had hoped, and I think the Cavs will match any offer for Shumpert that doesn't go above 10-12 million a year.

I don't know why you guys can't just go ahead and admit Thompson getting that money was a LeBron move. They're willing to pay Thompson 80 million but are playing hard ball with Shumpert. One is a LeBron guy and one isn't.

He's an RFA.. only means the market will set his price.

This is what we should have done with Tristan.
I respectfully disagree. You only let a player test RFA if you think the market will set the player’s value lower than what your max terms would be. As we’ve seen from the market so far, teams are having no issues handing out big-money contracts like candy, especially for a young defensive-minded wing like Shump.

This is how you disagree.... Not only does he provide his argument, point for point; he could very likely be right...

Shump is going to get a crazy offer sheet and the Lakers are the team that will do it. It will be more than 12 million per and we will match it.

Why does no player ever take a discount for Cleveland? Danny Green is gonna probably be paid less than Shump and he is way better on offense and a better defensive player. Makes no sense to me

Shump is a younger and also a better defender. Shump can guard point guards and some small forwards.

The key is can Shump continue to improve like Danny Green?

The Danny Green contract is an anomaly imo. It's basically at 15 mil a year guy settling for less to stay with a dynasty franchise. It would be nice if we had people on our team who would do that but I guess not lol.

At this point, I think Griffin should focus on finding SG/SF with the Haywood contract, and we may be able to get a wing player who can make Shumpert expendable, which could save us a boatload of money. Maybe we can get Shumpert too but it's nice to have options.

Is it possible some of you guys grow a pair? Jesus. Calm down.

Does anyone worry that we're shelling out way too much for zero offense? I love all these guys, but I'm starting to get nervous. We need some 3 and D guys, shooters.

Because, the Spurs are arguably the best run organization in professional basketball and have been for almost twenty odd years. A lot of the players except Duncan and Robinson etc are the ones who were written off or low draft picks who didn't have much value. Its Spurs and Pop who made them play to their best and made them what they are now. That is why some might feel they owe Spurs something. I am quite sure that would have been the case with Green as well. He was so close to being out of the league. Spurs rescued his career.

Naa. Shump isn't a better defender than Green.

Shump has the potential to be though. Green guards the both the point guards as well as shooting guards. He doesn't guard any small forwards but that is because they have Kwahi for that.

Shump is a decent shooter though. He showed some good promise after his shoulder recovered and he was hitting some big shots consistently. But after second game where he seemed to have re-aggravated his shoulder injury, his shooting went to dogs.
