One concern on waiting on the Haywood contract might be that if more and more free agents reach their destinations, suddenly only maybe 1 or 2 teams would have a need for our services and that might drop the contracts trade chip value. Right now apparently several teams are interested.

Nah. Teams that could make use of the Haywood contract would still have that use before or after players sign, it’s a non-factor. Cap space is cap space. If not used now, having the extra $10 million could be useful for a team during the trade deadline or heading into next season.

On topic, good to see Shump signed. One less thing to have to worry about, and kudos to Gilbert for continuing to put his pocketbook where his mouth is.

Agreed. I am glad we were able to strike a deal with him this quickly, because some other team was destined to offer him more on the open market.

All we got left is Delly, JR, and TT (who is basically a lock to return).

Totally false. Only reason people want Haywood is because his contact if non-guranteed until August 1st. No one actually wants to pay Haywood $10 mill. If we can't get anything for Haywood, we're just going to cut him. Didn't matter though, some team will get desperate and give us something of value for it. Just s matter of waiting for the right time.
