Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In no way was I blaming shumpert for San Antonio. I was just saying that he has plays where he gives up offense just like Jr but both are great defensive players on this team. Opponents points drop when Jr is on the floor

how much do they drop, compared to when Shump is on the floor? I would still like to see these statistics.

In the playoffs so far from nbawowy.com

JR, on court: 117 ORtg, 101 DRtg
Cavs, JR off court: 107 ORtg, 104 DRtg

Shump, on court: 115 ORtg, 102 DRtg
Cavs, Shump off court: 107 ORtg, 104 DRtg

What is extraordinary is that we're getting much better defense than could have been expected from JR, and much better offense than could have expected from Shump.

I think at this point, both are plus players, and that may be something pundits are overlooking. We are much better than just LBJ and a bunch of scrubs.

If you look at the playoffs: JR Smith has been just as good as Klay Thomspon and Shumpert has been better then Iggy/Barnes.

Defense stats during playoffs
Shump, Kyrie, Tristan, lebron , mozgov
Possesions 160
PPP 1.019
EFG 44.7
TS 49.1
3pt 18.2
2 pt distance 8.95
2pt 50.4 %
Out Shump- In JR
possessions 40
PPP .85
EFG 38.8
TS 39.9
3PT 16.7
2 pt distance 9.03
2pt 41.2

Big discrepancy in possessions however I think the sample is large enough to indicate that the shumpert advantage defensively is not as big as people suspect. if at all

Checking the regular season its the other way with the shumpert lineup having the edge defensively
the important thing is both are plus defenders and both can defend guards and wings.

Shumperts the more disciplined defender and more prone to get into positions that allows him to get stops Whereas Jr Smith is tasked with just being effective

post matchup stats, not the entire lineups +-

last time I saw, shumps dudes were shooting like 5% worse and id be surprised if they were able to shoot more often than JR. plus, shump is gonna be on the best scorer.

none of those stats were +/-. ppp is points per play. If i was posting +/- stats They would of been differentials between the offense production and the defense production. those were defensive production stats.

That's really missing the point entirely

I noted that you wete posting team stats rather than match ups, gave a couple off examples as to why that is unreliable, and you wrote a paragraph in ppp vs +/-.

You know what I meant
