Iman Shumpert

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know about Shumpert. He seems like a really low basketball IQ type. Personally I'd rather go after someone like Wes Johnson. He's not hyped like Shumpert but offers about the same skillset at a cheaper price (and would cost less assets to acquire). Living out in socal I see alot of the Lakers and Johnson is the one guy I would take off their roster..he's been around the league for awhile now and will accept his role without complaining. Another negative on Shumpert is that he will be a RFA next summer and looking to get paid...will also be looking to get his shots leading up to the summer.

Shumpert dislocated his shoulder tonight.

I've mentioned Wes Johnson...I had read he was falling out of favor, but I see he started tonight against San Antonio, and apparently played well. Lakers could dump his salary (they are very close to the tax) and bring in some other random player.

Some gratuitous attacks against Shump here, who was asked to do too much on a dysfunctional Knicks team.

But this was one case where even our optimistic fake trades turned out to be understatements of what Griffin was able to do, and then the team was able to make work.

Again to all the attackers I say his play with a healthy team was amazing plus he like all players had hit a wall with his injuries and what not. A healthy and gelled team is when we can really judge these players in any way. Shump I would keep over Smith you can always find a good volume shooter although J.R is the best of this kind. However much easier than trying to find a Defensive specialist with good or decent offense

True.

Also, Shump is young and still has so much scope to improve. His on-ball defense is amongst the best in the league. Probably only Kwahi is better. Its when he has to chase through the screens, he needs to do a better job. But then again, he did a tremendous job guarding Korver and then, Klay for majority of the series. His offense is a bit underwhelming but he is ultimately a 3 & D guy. He was shooting very well throughout the playoffs except in the Finals. I am presuming that shoulder injury he suffered had some effect on his shooting.

Didn't even know this thread existed but the TS looks like a genius in spite of the countless 'dumb' ratings he received for adequately predicting what became an integral cog in our formula for success.

Most of them came due to the time he made the thread. On November 9th we we're 5 games into the season and playing with a newly formed team. Most of us wanted to give them more than 5 games before judging who should stay or who we should target in a trade.

A lot of us, like myself, we're wrong, but it was easy to be up in arms when a new poster suggests a trade 5 games into the season, especially when previous seasons stats favored Dion over Shumpert cause again, we we're 5 games into the season and couldn't predict how shitty Dion would play.

This thread is a pretty funny read. Pretty damn good use of the bump I must say

You like this then re read all of the Safari threads they getter with age till now. Who knows though Safaris work in mysterious ways.

Iman Shumpert would immediately become our best perimeter defender BY A MILE AND HE IS A MUCH BETTER CATCH AND SHOOT player than Dion... He also can play the one, two or three.. Shumpert is the perfect complement for this team and Dion is the opposite.. Would do the trade in a heartbeat....

15 dumb ratings on this one..

Maybe rcf isn't as smart as they think they are. Maybe negative ratings are dumb.

Either that or the Dion brigade was flexing its collective muscles at the height of their power. A lot of team Dion went down with the ship.

Dion doesn't exactly strike me as a guy who would excel in the Triangle.

Speaking of triangles, I guess you could always try a 3 way trade.

Either that or structure the deal in such a way so that the Cavs also take back JR Smith.

Something like Dion plus filler for Smith.

Then a second trade of the TPE for Shump plus, say, Prigioni or Aldrich.

Burns the TPE (and Dion) and doesn't get you a big (unless Aldrich is included), but does get you two potentially useful pieces (plus Smith, who I don't qualify as useful at this point).

Might have to find a third team to take on Dion though and send something else to New York. Gets Smith off the Knicks' cap for next year, and I doubt they are able to find any other team willing to do so.
Looking back it’s amazing how scarily-accurate this post turned out to be.

Those ratings probably ran him off honestly. Some people don't react well to one negative rating, let alone 15 "dumb" ratings :chuckle:.
