Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It wasn't. His explanation during that interview was lame. Apparently yelling happy birthday is funny to the Cavs. Who the hell knows with those guys. It's clearly inside jokes for which we are never privy to the explanation.

Athletic wings who are low usage and somewhat limited offensively are valued very inconsistently. Al-Farouq Aminu, a somewhat similar player to Shumpert, got only the minimum from Dallas last summer. Again, it will depend on how Shump plays down the stretch and into the playoffs. If, for instance, he shows he can shoot 3s at 35%+ clip, and also shows he can be the primary perimeter defender on a good team, and he doesn't get hurt, then his value will certainly go up. But getting back to the original point, I don't know that I would say the full MLE for 3-4 years would exactly be cheap.

I would say that the difference between Aminu and Shumpert is that Aminu can't shoot. At all. You're just not going to get paid in the NBA if you're a wing that can't shoot unless you're an absolutely elite defender like Tony Allen.

For reference, Aminu is a career 28.6% three point shooter. Shumpert is a career 34.8% three point shooter (and is shooting 44% since the trade, which is likely unsustainable). Shumpert is also a better passer, although we haven't really seen that much here because he's not really asked to run the offense.

It's hard to believe he came into the league as a combo guard.

Shump is our only player tonight with + ranking. He have finished the game with +8. It tells a little about this dude impact.

was preoccupied. Who was guarding tonight?

I hope shump has spent the week doing ball handling drills to get his handle back we need him to bad sharp for the run now

Hopefuly Kyrie will teach him some moves. Ball in the bag and practice Iman ;)
