Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shumpert's hot shooting early on ignited an absolutely phenomenal homecourt advantage from the tip. My voice was shot by the end of the 1st quarter.

This guy exemplifies "next man up". If he can keep this rhythm going with JR coming back, we're that much better.
Holy hell, I said the same thing to my wife. I had no voice after 7 minutes into first. It was awesome hahaha

Shump has been awesome, just needs to stay healthy.

If Shumpert plays like this consistently and can stay healthy, an Irving-Shumpert-James lineup is the best backcourt in the NBA.

All three of them can handle the ball, all three of them can effectively drive/attack the basket off the dribble, and all three of them can shoot from three and mid-range.

He just sort of did a crab move awkwardly. Some said dunleavy had his foot under him when he landed.

Dunleavy does a lot of dirty stuff, but for once, I don't think there was anything malicious here. Just a really unfortunate sequence. Hope Shump can go on Friday.

@ChrisBHaynes: "It's going to take a lot of doctors to keep me from playing in Game 3." Iman Shumpert, groin strain.

Love the grit, but really anxious to see how the groin goes in shootaround....

Quite frankly, Shumpert is who we'd have hoped Wiggins developed into in 3 or 4 years. I still think Wiggins ultimate ceiling is higher, but I think it's going to be a slow steady increase to get there. In the meantime, we don't have to wait. And to think we have a rejuvenated JR Smith to complement him..

Shumps play gives me hope that we may actually make this run even without Love.

Props to the Shump so far in this series. Please stay healthy, we need you for this run. And in closing, Fuck Mike Dunleavy, he's been a dirty player all his career and adding the Bruce Bowen step-in to injure players has added another notch to his bag of crap. Still can't believe he wasn't suspended for those punches last series.

I know JR has been playing great in the starting lineup, but when you look at the roster moving forward, Shumpert starting and JR off the bench makes sense. We have offensive spark off the bench right now. Even with Andy coming back, neither him, Delly, Tristan or Shump are instant offense guys. JR however will get shots up no matter the amount of minutes he is given and will sometimes make a ton of them. Shump, from what we have seen this series, is a rhythm guy on offense. He'll take what comes to him and make the most of it. Watching him come off the bench this season, you would often see him force stuff because he knew he was the best option to generate offense, but it just didn't work. Playing with Irving and James (hopefully Love next season) he suddenly is amazing at taking the open shot, cutting when the lanes open up, and just being active without the ball.

With that adjustment and just bringing everyone back this summer would give us a complete roster.

I'm predicting it will be a "game time decision". If they took an MRI, they likely know the results by now. Even if Shump can play, I don't know if he can do more damage to his groin by playing. I'd likely start JR and see how he plays. If he's rusty, and can be expected for being off nearly two weeks, Shump can come in. If JR is on fire, we can rest Shump.

Shump has been stellar in this series.

I'm really nervous about losing this guy in the off-season... Same with TT and JR.

I hope we trade 2 of those 3 players, with all of those trades circling around Tristan Thompson.

And yes, I think all three players have had great years! That's why I want to trade a few of them this offseason.

Wait...what? What are you hoping to get by trading them?

Yes. I've gone into it in several threads.

We should be looking to consolidate and upgrade our front-court. I think that means trading Tristan Thompson; who is a great player, but at potentially $13M+, that's a waste. We should also try to package Varejao in a deal to a team that can absorb his salary.

My point is that we should be looking to consolidate these players to add talent in our front court OR shore up our reserves.

If you can do better than Thompson in some way shape or form, obviously you do it. I just don't see it. I think we'll end up paying him.
