They are losing Max Scherzer in the offseason so yeah.

Folks are assuming the Tigers are not including anyone on the bigleague roster. Would assume that Castellanos could be part of the deal. OR even better, what if the centerpiece of the deal is JD Martinez?

I considered that. I just didn't think those guys were worth Price.

Porcello, Castellanos and some of their top tier prospects is the only thing that even remotely comes close, and I'm not sure how they'd take that deal over something the Dodgers could offer such as Pederson or Urias plus others.

This really would be devastating for the AL Central hopefuls.

Oh, I agree, I mentioned JD Martinez since he was a waiver wire pickup and it would be funny to see people melt if the Tigers used him to get David Price :gap:

Guess we gotta wait and see. IF the Tigers pull it off, he makes a great replacement for Scherzer. If they manage to do it using Porcello as the centerpiece, well, then I really have to tip my cap to Dave Dombrowski. The guy does a great job of working around a big payroll. Just when ya think he is cornered, he pulls something out his arse. Just one of the best

His hitting prowess did improve, in fact it plateaued in 2011 and 2012 when he was an All-Star (amazing accolades without caring). Unfortunately, it's been all downhill since then.

The whole thing of caring is subjective and without definite solution, so snark about that is purely opinion. I don't know how much more exposure you have to the team, but you sure do act like you're up from Youngstown on a regular basis. I would be impressed.

Looks like he has had some good numbers the past couple seasons in the minors. I hope this means we will see Lindor at SS and not a new full-time starting role for Mike Aviles.
