Is AV good enough to make the all star game?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm mostly kidding, but that was an awful shot. And I DO think a lot of people rationalize that series and say we were NEVER going to win that series. There is a big difference between being down 2-1 and being down 3-0. 2-1: You're in the series. 3-0: Series over. The Spurs were good and experienced, but we had the best player in the universe, who had just scored 25 points in a row against Detroit. Until that series, I thought AV was a gift from god. After that series, I thought of him as a good player, who occasionally makes really stupid decisions.

Oh - and Varejao was one of the guys who laid down on December 2, 2010. He was one of the guys who just didn't give a shit, and helped double the insult to the fans.

So I won't be one of the people who cries when he leaves.

You didn't catch the 2004 ALCS I take it?

Hard foul. That's all I wanted. A HARD foul. An elbow to the cheek-bone of #6. Perhaps some bleeding or a fracture. Not a lot to ask. Nobody stepped up.

If someone took a pot shot at LeBron that game, the league would've come down on them and all the players in the league would've set their sights on that guy.

You're not upset because AV, of all people, "laid down." You're upset because he didn't become a dirty player for a night just to appease you. You're honestly an embarrassment as a fan.

Why didn't you disown them all when nobody stepped up .vs. Carlos Loozer?

Didn't LeBron when asked about the situation in pre-season, just respond that he wasn't swindling a blind man and screwing his team but merely doing what was best to take care of his family?

Heck, the only Cavalier I can recall that ever retaliated on behalf of anyone was playing for the Heat right beside him. If they tried anything to hurt LeBron, Z would have made them pay. :O

I've seen a few articles and shows with projections for the east reserves.
NONE of them even have Andy as a snub. :thumbdown
One of them picked Kyrie  and one listed Kyrie as a Snub.
Doesn't look good for our wild thing...

We can vote Peyton Hillis to be on the cover of Madden, but we couldnt vote Andy to be a starter for the All Star game? smh.

The all star game has always been a popularity contest. Most sports fans don't even consider to vote AV. I think he's more likely to win MIP this year though

It's not the fans I'm reffering to, it's the coaches. There was no way he was getting in on fan votes. The coaches have to do it and I don't see that happening...

Perhaps I SHOULD have disowned them all.

Look - I'm a Cleveland fan. I'm not even much of an NBA fan. I think it's bad basketball, and I don't like most of the players. It's a big club.

Yes, it was too much to hope for, that any player would feel as insulted as the average fan in NE Ohio. Yes, it was too much to hope for more than just a few players to voice disapproval of what LeBron did, or have the guts to directly antagonize him.

I haven't thought that much of Varejao in a while, but I guess I would have thought more of him if he had challenged LeBron in the lane that night. He wouldn't have been doing that for me; he would have been doing that for a great many people in NE Ohio. Nor do I think that letting somebody who just shit on the entire region do something OTHER than drive the lane with impunity is being a dirty player. It's called making a statement. Alternately, it's called playing defense.

But nobody wants to deviate from the script. The players and the league are all part of the same machine. The fans are on the outside.

Anyone else think Varejao outperformed Dwight tonight?

He's still unlikely to get that AS bid, but he should at least be talked about given his first half performance. He's shown that he's one of the top Centers in the East.

I always thought the All Star game was more about the popularity than the true ability.

It is good for him to win/compete during these marquee matchups.

Honestly, it is the best year for him to win. Competition is weak at C this year. Maybe Tyson Chandler, but I am guessing they put in another pf at the C spot.

that's the starters, the coaches vote on the reserves (and are supposed to name a guy for each of the 5 positions, plus two extras), the commissioner picks replacements

when do the coaches vote. Andy and Kyrie are both making a case for the all star game.
