Is AV good enough to make the all star game?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
when do the coaches vote. Andy and Kyrie are both making a case for the all star game.

Agreed I see Kyrie as a lock for the rookie game

as for Andy who else is making a better case for backup center for the East???

Tyson Chandler . . .nope
Horford is hurt
Joakim Noah - Andy is better, and Rose will represent the Bulls
Greg Monroe and Byron Mullens are having good years
Roy Hibbert is having a breakout year , Granger is more of a candidate

he is second in the league in rebounding and if he continues to assert himself offensively why wouldn't they choose him

yeah I know its Cleveland and Jamaal Magloire made it over Z one year as backup center at the all-star game, but Andy is having a special year

From Dirk after tonight's game:

On Anderson Varejao: “He’s an animal. We knew that coming in and he’s just great. He’s relentless…He’s got a great nose for the ball and he just keeps coming. (There are plays) when you think two guys have it and he just gets in there, tips it and someone comes up with it…He’s very active. I don’t think we’re the only team he’s done it to.”

Andy is on a rebounding tear the last few games: 20, 15, and 17.

Makes you wonder how much it hurt the Cavs when year after year during the Lebron era, AV had all those nagging injuries.

if they had to choose between Andy and Kyrie for the all star game i'd choose Andy because kyrie is 19 and will have his trips to it....Andy is 29 and may never have the shot to go again

Hibbert is who you have to worry about going in over Varejao. Granger has sucked this year and the Pacers will surely get a representative in the game.

I dont think the Questions is whether AV is good enough but whether he will be selected.

are you pulling stats from last year or something

agree with Granger

but if it came to a choice between AV and Hibbert , Ithink Andy wins , his defense and rebounding have been off the chart

HIbbert and Andy are really close statistically. Hibbert averages about 3 more points a game, an extra block a game, and shoots slightly better from the field. Andy Averages around 2 rebounds per game more. The big, gaping difference is that one guy's team is 16-7 while the other guy's team is 10-13. Hibbert should get the nod just because of that.

and with that logic I will disagree

Andy means more to our teams success than Hibbert to Indy's

imagine our teams record this year with Erden or Hollins starting, if AV was still hurt ! ! ! ! ! !

welcome to last year folks!

and with that logic I will disagree

Well if winning and losing doesn't matter, then Tyson Chandler easily deserves to go ahead of Andy. Shooting 70% from the field, 21% higher than Andy.

easily . . . . .???????

andy is out reboudning him and playing better D

also its hard to not shoot 70% when the majority of your shots are dunks

Is Andy good enough? Yes
Will he get the spot? Probably not. If we were 13-9 instead of 9-13, he'd probably get the spot.
